This is a great store! Small?, Yeah so what! They are more of a specialty grocery store with high quality and lots of class. I don't do my regular shopping there but it is always ...

Great place to shop! 3/9/2006

I love the selection... I buy most of our organic veggies and fruits here. Lots of good stuff to choose from. There are lots of fun things too look at here, too. Oh, and this is The Place for coffee! I can't get out of there without a Tall Soy Flamingo Chai. Oh and they have those cool little shopping carts for kids, too. Gotta love that! more

Wonderful store! 3/5/2006

It is always a pleasure to shop here. I will purposely drive here to get my "goods" - i.e. healthier fare than what I can find at Fred Meyer or Marlene's. Marlene's is kinda expensive and out of the way (too close to all that traffic near the mall and Costco), and Fred Meyer doesn't have the natural/organic meat selection that the Met does. I feel good when I shop here, get pretty decent prices, and love the decor. The bakery is yummy, the coffee is terrific, and the best feature is the incredibly friendly staff members who really know how to help customers feel good and get what they want. A++++ more

Metropolitan Market has many surprises 3/4/2006

The Proctor Metropolitan Market was a pleasant surprise when it was first built, and continues to be a pleasant surprise to this day. Finding a store that has organic food as well as nutritional supplements and nature-friendly cleaning supplies is very rare. Metropolitan's prices aren't bad either! The store itself is lit with warm, earth-toned lighting that gives a relaxed, calm atmosphere that can't be found in other grocery stores. The nutritional supplement section has items that are hard to find - I was amazed and delighted to find the special herbal that my dad needs that can usually only be found online. If the outside of the store gives the impression that the prices might be somewhat upscale, actually the prices seem to be comparable to other grocery stores, as well.... even a little cheaper sometimes. more

Grocery shopping you'll WANT to do 8/23/2005

I hate grocery shopping but I love shopping at Met Market (formerly known as Queen Anne Thriftway). Produce is fresh and artistically displayed, breads and baked goods are out of this world. Staff members know their stuff and can answer questions about ingredients and preparation. No time to cook? Pick up any of the market's delicious prepared salads or entrees (the roasted turkey is very yummy and the meatballs are sweetly spicy). more
