Learning Sprout specializes in teaching supplies and caters to teachers -- but I LOVE to shop here for gifts for my children and others. Why? Games built to endure the wear and tear of 25 first graders can certainly withstand use by my children. ALSO, many of the staff members here are teachers so they can easily and expertly point me toward books that address my children's needs or likes. Learning Sprout carries a large selection of Thomas the Tank toys, science kits, and puzzles and toys from manufacturers including Ravensburger & FX Schmidt, Melissa & Doug, Lamaze, and Fractiles.

Office Depot is a large, clean, airy store, but sometimes the prices can be a little high. Sometimes the people who work there can be too busy to help you, so it's better to go prepared and know what you're looking for.
There is a good selection of software, and recording media such as zip disks, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, DVD-Rs, etc. The Office depot store brand seems to be pretty good, though, so I seldom buy a "commercial brand."
There is definitely a huge selection of printer paper, labels (for packages and letters as well as for CDs and other disks), and every kind of office-related supply you can imagine and many you never knew existed.
You can also use the printing area in the back of the store, where they have binders, copiers, and other office machines available to use. You can also order a plastic "rubber stamp" of your address, and find a pen that actually writes.
