I made an appointment with Angelo Mendi months prior to do a trial run for my wedding coming up in August. I drove down from Seattle, and was treated horribly as soon as I sat in his chair. All he kept saying was ""you have so much hair"", and shaking his head no. Finally he says "" I can't do it"". I was shocked since I'm no Crystal Gail. Was he actually kicking me out of his chair, after making the appt. 3 mo. ago, and driving down from Seattle in traffic? I was stunned, confused, and shocked that he would talk down to me like that. He then passed my head of hair to his apprentice Sara (who was very kind), who started curling my hair after she had to be shown how to use the curling iron. Mind you, I am paying Mendi's rates. Before I could see the final result, I was asked to check out while I was still in the chair. The total was $70 and I said ""go ahead and make it $90"". Thinking that for a $70 fee that I would give a $20 tip. Checking my receipts when I got home, I was surprised that they charged me $160.00!!! Are you kidding me, they thought when I said ""make it $90"", that I meant a $90 tip!!! Even Mendi's high profile clients who he kept boasting about wouldn't even do that. This was such a bad salon experience for me that I couldn't sleep all night. He should never talk to a person/client the way he did, and I should have never taken it.
