Went here a for a Swedish massage to see if this place is what I had heard (one of the best spa's in Tacoma). It definitely surpassed my expectations...especially having seen some world class spa's in the US and abroad. The design, the artwork, and the craftsmanship that went into this place was spectacular. I was VERY impressed.
More importantly, the whole experience was rather nice. The front desk girl was super sweet and set me up quite nice in the relaxation area while i waited for my massage. The woman who gave me a massage was FANTASTIC (her name was Romona...get her if u can). One of the best massages I've ever gotten. You could tell she really knew her stuff and her energy was so relaxing. She really worked it out. Friendly staff, gorgeous artistry, and a damn good massage. Nice to know what Tacoma has to offer!
All in all, I usually write reviews to blast a place but rarely take the time to praise. This place was worth the review and I will be going back again.
Pros: Beautiful Design

After spending a wonderful, relaxing birthday at the Puyallup location last year I was so excited to try out Jewell's new location. The ladies at Puyallup were so sweet and the atmosphere was small but ever so comfortable. We were having trouble finding the new location so we called to ask for some help and the gal on the phone was immediately snappy. We ended up being a whole 11 minutes late-not for the actual appt time but for check in. We were glared at by the black girl at the front who had answered the phone, then asked by another individual to come back and change. The cozy tea room I had loved so much at Puyallup was wide open at this location. The girls were rushing in and out of the area to get to the laundry/prep room. We would try to relax and every time it was cut short by the sound of voices, stomping heels, etc. My massage was first....the gal was nice but when she came back into the room to do the massage she did not say a word or give me any warning as she ripped the blankets off my whole back and started. The entire massage felt uncomfortable and rushed and you could hear the staff talking loudly in the hall the entire time. Next was the facial...the gal (Bria) was wonderful and took her time with everything, gently massaging my arms, legs, neck and face throughout the treatment. Unfortunately for her there is a home with little dogs next door who will bark randomly during the treatment. She did everything she could to drown out the noise with a fan but I was still distracted. My sister recieved the same facial by a different gal and it was bad. She was slathered, steemed and sent out...no gentle massage for her. So if you want a facial from Tacoma request Bria. Altogether, I would rated the Puyallup location a 5 and the new Tacoma location a 2 at best.

This is one of the best decorated spas you will find this side of the mississippi; however, the manager is not kind to her staff, nor to clients. It made me very uncomfortable to hear how she spoke to them and to customers. Tho the service I got there was nice and I adored the ambience, I wouldn't go back nor recommend others subject themselves to it.
Pros: gorgeous decorations

This is truly a "Jewell" of a find in Puyallup. I couldn't recommend it enough. If you need a massage, go here first!
Pros: Great people, great service, great massage!
