I went to Gene Juarez (Tacoma) to have the experience, and to say I've been there. I was not impressed at all by the colorist. She was very rude, lacked customer service skills and hardly asked any questions about my hair or offered any explanation of what she was going to do with my hair. The stylist though, made the trip to GJ all worth it. He was very friendly, asked several questions about my hair, gave me tips on how to style it and was just over-all a very good person. He chose all my Bumble and Bumble products and walked them to the counter for me to purchase and he walked me to the counter where I paid for the services.

The only place I really know of in the South End is Gene Juarez at the Tacoma Mall. I got highlights done there and they're very knowledgeable. I think the girl I went to was named Hannah. Anyway, very professional and knew what she was doing. I wouldn't go there for a cut though unless you want to pay for one of the more experienced stylists.

Gene Juarez is one of the pricier salons in town, but, in my opinion, they're worth it. Stylists and colorists are top-notch. Customer service is great. The ONE time I got highlights that were just a little too brassy, the salon responded by bringing me back the next day, apologizing, fixing me up, and treating me with great care.
