I've been taking my cats there for years for their routine vaccinations and exams as they need them. I've had only the best of service at my visits. The veterinarian on duty is knowlegable, quick, and overall makes it a painless experience for my cats so they can get back to the comfort of their own home quickly. I think the hardest part for them is getting in and out of the carrier. But, who's kitty actually wants to go in there lol?! As for personality, this guy has a big one! He's very honest and to the point of what my animals need and that's a huge reason why I love and trust this clinic.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMEND THIS VET AND WILL NEVER GO BACK... I brought my new cat in for treatment the day I acquired him for an upper respiratory infection and overall exam; the unfriendly vet, Dr. Walia, didnt weigh my cat, attempt to age him, nor did he exam his body in any way other than to check his ears for mites and diagnose his obvious upper respiratory infection (URI)...he was physically rough with and unsympathetic towards my cat, gave me meds and sent me on my way...THREE SEPERATE ROUNDS OF MEDICATIONS LATER my cat was still sneezing mucus, I went back FOR A FOURTH TIME for more meds and literally had to insist on them giving me a stronger medication; after giving him the meds and seeing that he STILL was not getting better I took a look at the meds I was given and they were for tooth absesses!! A month and a half and $300+ later and my cat still sick, I refused to go back, I went to VETS FOR LESS and they were awesome!! I explained the situation and the vet there even said that she didnt understand why he gave me that particular last "stronger" medication to my cat for his URI...she tested him for feline leukemia and AIDS to rule them out(WHICH WESTGATE VET SHOULD HAVE DONE WEEKS AND WEEKS AGO!!!) and sent me off with a 2 week medication and feeling LOTS better about my experience and my cats well-being. I did not feel like Dr. Walia at Westgate Animal Hospital truly cared about the well being of my cat or for animals in general, and I felt that his choice of perscription and ability to even age my cat (When I went back I requested they age him, he said he was about 3 but after talking to my friend I acquired the cat from, I found that my cat is only 1 year old! The vet at Vets for less also confirmed this) shows a huge lack of competance. Dr. Walia makes it clear that this is just his job and has a very in-and-out attitude towards treatment. Please take my advice and if you care about your animal, DO NOT SUPPORT THIS CLINIC. Do your research, check reviews and choose wisely! Hope this helps...

Dr. Walia and his staff is what makes this place such a success! he has been a vet for about 40 years! meaning hes got more experience then most vets out there by far! I've been taking my pom, Siberian husky, and great Dane there for years and I have never been upset by the work they do. Dr. Walia is straight to the point because that's what a doctor is supposed to be that way it saves the clients and their beloved pets the hassles and time. However he and the staff are extremely compassionate and caring, oh and they know their stuff so answers are always very clear. the hospital is also very clean and if you ask anyone about them in that area you'll get the same answer! oh and their cat is probably the coolest his names bert and he is defiantly the most beautiful cat I've ever seen, he's a maine-coon and can you believe that he can look a great dane and siberian husky in the face with no hesitation :D

I have taken all three of my purebred pomeranians to Westgate. Dr. Whalia is a great vet, he is a little abrasive personality wise but he is just direct. Their office is affordable and their staff is very kind always accommodating. Dr. Whalia has had pomeranians so he is great with small dogs. My one pomeranian has a heart condition and he has kept her alive many years past expectancy.

Dr. Walia and his clinic provides the finest in vet care I have ever had. He has been my vet for well over a quarter century. I have Pekingese dogs and he has treated all of them. He is patient, caring and the best vet I have ever known. His prices are lower than most and his office staff is caring and wonderful. In all, he has treated eight of my dogs over the years and I would not trust them to anyone else.

The Dr. of this establishment is probably the best vet with animals I have ever seen. He is just a to the point kind of guy. Just because he does not be overly nice and stupidly tender with animals means nothing. I have taken a feral cat right out of the wild to him and he was the only person who could touch the animal. I also have a psycho cat that other more hippie types of vets have problems with, I took my cat to him and guess what, he could handle him. He has a gift with animals. Some people should stop treating there animals as if they have human feelings, and come back to reality.

No nonsense Vet, I have taken one very large dog and two cats to the clinic. I got the service I deserved and the animals were treated very well. I would recommend the clinic to anyone I know. The dog was treated for an emergency visit a very bad cut to the foot, the doc handled his (175 lb Rottie) very well.

I went there to get my 1 yr old pom her shots...but the vet on duty was rough with her...and didn't take into consideration how scared she was. He didn't greet or introduce himself to us, even though we were new. Basically we motioned for us to go into a smaller room, and he gave her the two shots, then left. He was not very gentle when he handled her and made her even more scared. Although the examination fee was 1/2 of what is of some other vets, I will not be returning to this vet. He did not seen to welcome any questions that we may have about her and wasn't very friendly to us either.

I have had only good experiences with this hospital. All the staff have been very caring and treated my pets with TLC. I have had two dogs and three cats who they have treated for both shots and injuries. I have had to put to sleep a dog and a cat there and the staff has always been very considerate of me and my pets.
