My first experience with Tarragon was about 5 years ago when my wife and I attended their special Valentine's Day dinner. We were disappointed on almost every aspect: food, service, ambiance, wine selection.
So we forced ourselves to pay them another vistit more recently, and we were very pleasantly surprised. They have apparently acquired themselves a new head chef, and the impact is obvious.
Every aspect of our food was good or better. They offer tasty buy healthy side dishes like garlic steamed spinach, the selection of appetizers was good but not esoteric or strange. The wine list was also much improved with some nice selections from Italy, France and Australia.
The service was very satisfactory, and the atmosphere was great. They feature live jazz every thursday evening, and if you select a seat near the back it can be very private and romantic.
If you've been disappointed by earlier visits, I recommend you give it another try.

Tarragon is basically this American Bistro place, with pretty descent to good food.
Anyway, my bad experience was when the management really sucked. My friend's dad had this coupon that said "$20 off, an order rack of lamb". So he thought that it meant $20 off and a free rack of lamb.
But anyway, the waiter confused him that way. Actually it meant $20 off your meal, but lamb is recommended (per it is the most expensive thing on the menu...)
So at the end of the meal he paid for the lamb, but he wanted to tell the manager that the coupon was confusing. The manager basically said "You're the first person to get confused, it states as clear as day." Talking down to him like he was the stupidest person ever.
Yeah. Not going back there.
