i am surprised by some of the other bad reviews. i have aleays had terrific experiences here with both food and service. live jazz sunday brunch is great. dining room is beautiful and always changing. can not say enough good things about it. if you had a bad experience try again, it was an anamoly.

We went to Bullfinchs for my mother's birthday and were immediately impressed by the beautifully decorated dining room. As the meal went on the dining room became crowded and noisy. The food was ok, however bland and overpriced for the quality. Our waitress was very friendly, but forgot our drinks and brought us the wrong dinner. Try for yourself, but not sure we would return.

My sugestion is if you are into atmosphere but not to picky about food then Bullfinch's is your kind of place but if your like the most of us save your time and your wallet. I've yet to have a bad meal or dining experience at this restaurant. The cuisine is listed as American, but this is definitely not a steak and seafood restaurant. The menu would better be described as european-influenced gourment. Veal oscar, beef wellington, chicken versonese, goose liver pate, panka encrusted chilean seabass are just some of Bullfinch's offerings. The atmosphere is ecclectic, romantic and classy, without being too uptight or formal. In there summer there's outdoor seating available on the patio beneath a vined trellis. They also have a decent wine list, and a fair selection of scotches and cordials. Pros: food, atmosphere, wine list

If a little of something is good, then a lot must be better, right? WRONG! The food here is like warfare on a plate. Too many ingredients. Mismatched ingredients. It is truly horrible. Nevertheless my wife and I are frequent visitors to this charming restaurant. Why? The staff and the ambience are both superb (though the service is not always the best!). If they ever get a real chef, this place will be awesome!
