My boyfriend and I have been searching for an authentic Parisian restaurant before we go on our trip to Paris next spring, so that we can get acquainted with the french food and terminology. WE FOUND IT! As soon as we walked in to the romantic dining room, we were sat by the matre'd who greeted us with the word "Bonsoir" which we knew how to respond to, since we have been studying our beginner french terms. Then we looked at the menu to find a "Recession" prix fixed dinner for an amazing price - we are aware we won't get that in Paris ;) The food was the real highlight, though. I am in culinary school training to be a chef and am currently learning how to make the french sauces. I have to say this chef made a divine Burnoise and Bechemel sauce for our steak and pork that were so tender we literally cut it with our fork. Take my advice and get these two entrees if they are available. It also comes with half a carafe of table wine, not the best, but, hey, it was only 12 bucks. For the dining experience, the ambience, the authenticity and economical prices, this place really can't be beat. We deem it, Tres Bien and Bon Appetit!
Pros: FOOD, SERVICE, AMBIENCE

The sidewalk seating with candle lights does remind me of Paris, the indoor decor is traditional French like in brasserie. The owner JB is extremely hospitable, you can tell from the forever picked bar section. I was just there had a group dinner last Sunday, with the economy in landslide, I was able to taste great food with pre fixed $35, including 3 choices of starter, 3 choices of entree, 2 choices of dessert , and a glass of wine, where can you go to get good French cuisine with all of the above. I had steak frites, which I found authentic Parisian. I also recommend Sunday branch, elegant but not pretentious, great reasonable light but creative menu with a glass of champagne & jazz music playing, the Sunday farmer?s market is just few steps away, another reason to try it out !

I have been coming here for years, and have yet to be dissapointed. From the always hospitable owner, JB, to the friendly knowing staff, to the variety of choices on the menu (escargot, sand dabs etc.), and wine list. Their 3 flavour creme brulee is my fave. With the economy in turmoil, you want to spend a night out somewhere that you know you'll get your moneys worth. This place is a staple of Studio City residents in the know. Upscale, minus pretension. And I just found out there will be a new happy hour with cheaper drinks and a tapas menu this week! I heard from the staff it will be 6 days a week from 4-7 and 10-11!!! This is just one more reason I will remain a loyal patron of the Wine Bistro! See for yourself!
Pros: Service, food, staff, comfort, etc.
Cons: Can't think of any real "cons"

We showed up towards the end of the evening, but the bar was still full and there were still people at three of the tables outside, so we figured we be able sit down and enjoy a glass or wine at this romantic place I've been hearing about. We sat down at the only 2 top table available outside even though it was dirty and just asked for a new table cloth. We felt rushed to make a decision within moments of seeing the wine list by 2 different servers and they seemed disappointed that we weren't going to order food. We ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and Cabernet, and though there were 2 choices by the glass for the Cab the server left without us getting to pick which one we wanted. Finally we got someone to change out the table cloth, who dumped all the cigarette ashes and matches on our laps as he removed it. Even though things weren't great, we were still trying to enjoy the evening. We enjoyed our glasses of wine and wanted a second and the server never came out to find out if we wanted another. By the time she did, we were the last couple there. She did serve us another glass of wine and the check and then was gone. The wine was good, but not good enough to make up for the terrible service.
Pros: Wine
Cons: Service

The name TOUCHON says it all. When we were in Lyon, France at this little cafe', in November, we were chilled and looking for a warm meal. They had the best stew and warm bread. In this stew were Touchon carrots. They where so sweet and had no core. The owner?s last name was also Touchon. We journeyed on to Switzerland looking for a good deal on a vantage Swiss watch and low and behold they showed us a Touchon watch circa 1909. Touchon?s were also watch makers and made watches for Tiffany and Company. We were quite impressed when we came across Wine Bistro. JB Touchon is keeping the high standards of the Touchon name we experienced in Europe.

Went there for Valentine's Day and the food was wonderful!!! We had the prix fixe menu and everything was delicious. The wine list was on point, the ambience was romantic, and the wait staff was extremely attentive considering how busy it was. We were running later than our reservation, but we simply called in and did not have to wait as long as most establishments. Other diners were just as friendly too! The ballon decor was a little cheesy for my taste, but it went with the occasion. Crowd was little older and more local, considering we were the only 20-somethings there from the other side of town. One of the best dining experiences I've had in awhile.
