We used to eat here until the superior Katsu-Ya opened on Ventura (about 1.25 miles east near Colfax).
The quality of the sushi is good, not great, although the fresh scallops in season (sashmi style) are only offered by a few sushi bars, Katsu-Ya is also one of them.
Parking lot is very tiny, which makes parking difficult, unless you're wiling to walk. This is a good place for a date.

My husband and I go out for sushi all the time. This was our first time at Iroha and we loved it. This is going to be our go-to sushi place from now on.

A group of us went to Iroha Sushi last night and experienced nothing short of excellent food and service. Every selection that we ordered was delicious and the fish that was used was extremely fresh. I highly recommend asking your server or chef for recommendations as we did. Their menu offers a variety of special dishes that are not typical of a "typical" sushi restaurant, but are absolutely delicious. One dish we ordered, I can't remember the name, combines a crab and shrimp salad sitting on little pieces of toast, topped with sliced jalape?os. Who would have thought this could be so good? Needless to say, we were not disappointed with anything we ordered. I also highly recommend calling ahead for a reservation as this is a small place that fills quickly. I called earlier the same day we went and had no problem getting a reservation at my desired time. We were seated promptly and the service was great. Be sure and try some tempura ice cream for dessert if you're able to save room.
Pros: Menu Selection, Service, Quality of Food
Cons: Nothing

Forget Katsuya, overpriced corporate sushi, this place is the real deal. The Sushi chefs here are experts and so attentive. Jose cuts paper thin sashimi that is simply AMAZING. Even the waiters remember my boss and I's favorite sake and bring us out a bottle before we've even sat down. This place is the BEST, and the chef recommend's are melt in your mouth amazing. Make sure you try the albacore with crispy onion, and the special #3 with the cucumber wrap. If you like REAL sushi, you cannot not try Iroha.

The atmosphere is awsome - super cute BUT super decieving. When we got there they told us the wait would be 15 minutes. FINALLY after over an hour had passed we got 2 seats at the bar, only to realize that none of the chefs were Japanese. THIS IS NOT REAL SUSHI. It takes 7 to 10 years to become a Sushi Chef, not a quick course in cutting raw fish. This place is a waste of time and money, stick to Katsuya down the street.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Food, Service, Everything Else

I have been all over the Studio City area looking for my favorite Sushi place, and Iroha has been a constant delight. I stumbled on this place once after a long day. This was the only Sushi restaurant in the area that was open, and it could not have been more of a treat. The sushi has been consistently fresh and delicious, the prices are very reasonable, the hours are convenient, and the atmosphere is fabulous. Early in the evening, there tend to be a handful of families with younger children, but later, it becomes quieter and more intimate, especially on the patio.
Pros: Food, ambience
Cons: Can get a little noisy if there are a lot of children

This place never fails to serve up succulent, mouth-watering sushi from the freshest fish. Everything we've tried on the menu is supurb and tasty and expertly prepared. The specials wrapped in cucumber are excellent. Some reviewers bashed on the service -- you don't go here for the service, you go for the quality of the food which is exceptional for a moderate price. Some of the best sushi on either side of the Mulholland.
Pros: food, ambiance
Cons: sometimes hurried or inattentive service

I hesitated to rate this place average.....went there in the middle of the week - made a reso - seated us on time. The waiter was HORRIBLE - totally inattentive, brought the edamame AFTER the appetizer and first roll. Totally forgot about the eel sauce and the mayo. Then, to make matters worse, (1) he forgot about the second roll we ordered, and (2) he never bothered to come back and check on us. No drink refills, nothing. The food was good though - really fresh sushi, yummy and tasty. If you don't care about service, this place is great...but barely anyone speaks english and they really don't care if you are enjoying your meal.
Pros: yummy fresh tasty food
Cons: horrible service, rude staff, no english speakers.
