I take my husband's shirts here to have them cleaned and boxed. They do a great FAST job and don't use too much starch, which he really likes. They are also very friendly and affordable.
I've also used them to finish several projects that I have hand knit. They've sewn fleece backing onto a blanket and added a zipper to a sweater I made. Both things were done flawlessly.
I'd highly recommend them for cleaning and minor sewing repairs.
Bottomline: Hill Top Cleaners is tops.

This store has the most fun gifts for sisters, moms and girlfriends. It's a small shop and you have to fight for a meter on the constantly busy Ventura Blvd., but it's worth it. They have a large variety of very creative and books, beautiful leather journals and pens, candles and vases, and a good selection of cards and stationery. There is also an area in the back of the store that has gifts for babies and children. They stock many very soft and sweet items including toys, clothes and accessories (I bought my friend the Pee-Pee Teepees for her newborn son.) This is the store I go to when I want a treat for myself or to treat a friend. The staff has always been very helpful and sociable - if you're stuck they are great at offering recommendations!

In addition to a good selection of body lotions (not always stocked by other chains), this store (in the Ralph's shopping mall) has a drive-up pharmacy 'window' where you can speak to someone via the intercom & through pneumatic tubes send your Rx to be filled & you can pay for it via the tubes too.

This camera shop has an old school feel to it, and it's got a wide selection of parts and supplies. If you're looking for parts for an older model camera, this is a good place to start searching. I found the repair desk to be surprisingly careless, however, when it came to what ended being a minor problem. The technician whisked the camera away to some back room and returned with a report that the shop couldn't fix the problem. I later discovered he had accidentally exposed the film inside the camera and rather than admit this, hustled me out of the store.
