An old favorite based on the ambiance, great food and service. Not having dined there for some time, Saturday's experience was a disappointment. The food was still great... but... being rudely told that "they'd do their best to get us a table" because we arrived 13 minutes past our reservation time was ridiculous. A mere "your table is not ready yet" would've sufficed and made us actually feel welcome instead of feeling as if we had just missed a flight to Europe because of our minutes of tardiness! So we move on... the server is nice but seemed to be tending to every single table in the place because although she did ask us if we needed anything throughout the night, she rushed by our table at lightening speed when doing so and never gave us a chance to answer. With restaurants like Jiraffe, Madeo, and Catch spoiling us with amazing food and impeccable service, Firefly is definitely no longer a favorite... not even in the top 20 of places where I love spending money. Considering it was a slow night, it was hard to understand why the server did not ask for our entree order till 50 min into our appitizer. Then the got my ribeye order wrong with a fillet. When they came back to me they even said someone was eating my ribeye at the other table and they could not take it back. That was a funny one ;) I am an easy going guy so I took it for a grain of salt. They did however get me a dessert but did not communicate that till the end as we thought they misordered that one too ;) Oh well. Nice ambience. Nice people. It must have been an off day. Pros: They admitted the issues.. customer service got me a dessert Cons: slow service.. wrong orders...

I live right down the street from Firefly and have been a semi-regular customer for about three years now. Luckily, we just discovered that they have opened on Sundays. We have two small kids, and although my husband and I love dining at Firefly without the kids during the week, it is great to know that are local spot, (in it's more subdued Sunday fashion) is a great stop for us and our little ones for an early Sunday dinner. The food and service are always amazing!! Pros: food, service, open on Sundays now!!! Cons: smoking

This used to be a pretty decent place. It's gone downhill. They have an obnoxious and lame manager running the place. They make people wait in line except for people with whom this manager has a financial incentive to let in. These people are as obnoxious and lame as the manager. The crowd is pretty old too - I'm talking 50's. My advice is, if there's a line, don't bother. Head on over to NextDoor or Laurel Tavern where the crowd and atmosphere is WAY better. Pros: Under the current management, none Cons: Doormen / Attitude

I live right by here and love going for a drink...but come on... the prices are REALLY high. I mean, its good food- but SMALL portions. Do what i did, eat first- then come have an appy and a glass of wine. The service is pretty lame for how much they charge. And we DONT appreciate you adding 20% tip for our party of eight to the bill right off the bat. 20 percent isnt even standard. I could understand mandatory 17 percent or something...but giving yourself 20%? PlEASE. Thats obviously the only way the waiters make money since their service definitely isnt worthy of it. Atmosphere is great and theres always a celebs somewhere in sight...but that isnt worth it for me to go often. Pros: tasty stuff, super cool atmosphere Cons: lame service, retarted prices, annoyingly small portions

If I could post this review without giving them a star at all, I would have. They're totally not even worth the one star. My best friend and I decided to pop by Firefly last wknd for some drinks and some girl talk since it was near her house. There was a crowd of about 5 or 6 ppl outside and a doorman who seemed to be more concerned with himself that anyone who was there to spend money. While my girlfriend spoke to valet, I jumped out to see if there was a wait for drinks. Apparently my asking the doorman about this translated to a language he didn't understand because he completely ignored me. Moments later a moderately recognized celeb and his friend walked up and the doorman let him in and walked in behind them, leaving us all outside. My friend walks up and wonders why we're all standing outside since no one was at the door, so we decide to walk in - as well as everybody else that was standing outside. Once inside, the doorman looks up from his position of playing groupie to the celeb and realizes we're all inside and starts shouting and waving his hands. Then he decides to push my friend in the midsection to keep her from advancing further into the club! When is it okay to stop using your words and touch a woman?! How disrespectful! At this point, the celeb realizes he knows my friend and speaks to her. NOW the doorman attempts to ask him if he knows my friend but at this point, we're so insulted it didn't matter - there was no way we were spending our money there. She let him know that touching her wasn't acceptable and we left. To Firefly mgmt: Keeping that guy as your Friday night doorman is gonna get you guys in a lot of trouble. To anybody else reading this: Save your money you'd spend on a drink at Firefly, throw it in your tank and go get a drink at a real establishment that matters.

I was so pleasantly surprised to find that my favorite hang out opened for Sunday dinner.It's really romantic and the food is awesome. I love how calm it is on Sunday, it gets pretty crazy during the week and sometimes it's hard to get a reservation, on Sunday that's not an issue. I totally recommend it!
