I love Spain, and have visited her a couple of times in the recent past. And I have enjoyed a variety of regional dishes, wines and mostly tapas that have sustained me throughout my travels. And it is my pleasure to report that Ole Tapas Bar is a breath of warm and dusky Iberian air right here in the San Fernando Valley.
From the moment we were warmly invited into the darkly reddish, glowing interior, we knew that the mood and tastes of Spain awaited.
We came specifically for Sangria and tapas. and we ordered accordingly. A pitcher of iced red sangria and the following: Pollo al Sabor de Granada--chicken breast strips with pomegranate sauce, and Pinchitos de Cordero--lamb brochettes in a sangria reduction sauce. We also enjoyed the Placa Caliente, which is an assortment of tapas featuring grilled shrimp, fried goat cheese in honey, patatas bravas, fried calamari, sauteed mushrooms and artichokes. We rounded out our meal ordering a fresh spinach salad with poached pear and goat cheese. Dessert was a lovely dish of sauteed banana carmelized in brandy, introduced into a puff pastry, baked and served with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and slivered almonds. Delicious and uncommon.
The dishes were appetizingly presented and satisfying. We definitely intend to return and sample more of the eclectic Spain-inspired fare. We also wish to enjoy the live flamenco show hat is currently scheduled for Tuesday nights.
The geography of southern California is very evocative of much of Spain. A meal and an evening at Ole Tapas Bar inspired memories and visions of our next journey to the ancient peninsula.
Pros: Ambience, menu selections, table staff
Cons: None of any consequence noted

Talk about a unique place to eat. While the service was adequate, the food was fantastic. They have different themed patios which gave it a great ambiance. I would recommend this place to anyone. They even offer vegan dishes.

Went here for a small casual family gathering of four. First time. Was not diappointed.. Interior was welcoming, tasteful and cozy. Service was very pleasant and helpful. Classic vindaloos, kormas, and tikka masalas were not as heavy and fresher tasting than many other indian places which tend to over-cook sauces. Spice intensity is to your preference. Fried rIce was perfect. Chicken was very tender, though just a few more actual pieces would have been welcome. Although weekday room was full by 7:45pm, it was pleasant and not noisy. Reservation recommended for dinner after 7:00pm.
Pros: Cozy neighborhood classic
Cons: Tiny parking area

we took my grandma for dinner for her bday here and i was pleasantly surprised! because when we got here and i looked at the menu of this restaurant i thought to myself what the hell kind of restaurant is this? it has won ton soup (chinese) then it had some borscht (russian) spaghetti (italian) the menu just looked like a mushed up different types of food all together. however i did order the eggplant spinach salad with mushroom dumpling (OMG MAY I SAY DELICIOUS!!) then i had the ragu bolognese (OMG EXCELLENT!! ) i normally ask for extra sauce and extra cheese but it came with it all without being ordered!! my grandma ate their special which was seafood pasta, that was quite delicious too. it had mussels from maine which were small-medium , shrimp, calamari etc usually calamari i have experienced are kinda tough and chewy esp if it is in pasta with other seafood this one was soft and tender!!. im getting hungry just thinking of it. my mother got lamb shank she loved it!! we got tiramisu and that was DELICIOUS! needless to say we will be back!!
Pros: everything!
Cons: the bread could have been warmer and self parking could have been more spacious nothing else i can think of

I had never heard of Le Pain Quotidien until last week, when I tried it for the first time. The Grilled Chicken & Smoked Mozzarella with Arugula and Basil Pesto Tartine (open faced sandwich) was so tasty, I had to go back today and have it again. The presentation and preparation was absolutely perfect both times I've had it. Every ingredient tasted very fresh and I felt like I was eating a delicious and healthy meal. I appreciated the large carafe of iced green tea delivered to my table, so I could refill my glass without having to expect the server to keep an eye on my glass for me. That's a brilliant idea that I wish more restaurants would copy. Soft orchestral music plays over the restaurant's sound system and filtered sunlight brightens the earthtone and wood interior. If you are trying to choose a lunch location between Le Pain Quotidien and Il Tramezzino (both on the same block), DEFINITELY choose Le Pain Quotidien! They may be in the same city block, but they are on opposite ends of my "star" scale.
Pros: Delicious, fresh food and relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: May be hard to find convenient street parking on a busy day.

I have to tell you, I LOVE this place. I'm going to call them for take-out tonight. I'm going to pick up two orders of lasagna, one mushroom and goat cheese and the other just their regular meat and marinara, and I'm going to take them home to my husband, and we're going to pig out until we can't breathe because the food is just so damn good. The dine-in experience is charming and comfortable. When you eat here, oh, and you will...prepare yourself that the hot rolls with garlic and mozzarella are addictive. You will not be able to stop eating them. But please try. Your food is coming, and no one likes a glutton.
Pros: The food is delicious, the service has always been very friendly, attitude is fantastic
Cons: parking is street parking or valet only. but this is a MINOR con.

I love Rocco's. It's a great sports bar with a fun patio and the best part is that the food is actually pretty good. And considering it's italian the pizza and pasta are amazing. There's always a really fun crowd and you can't beat their happy hour 7 days a week with their 2 for 1.
Pros: Food, atmosphere, sports, crowd
Cons: none

We had a great time at Pinot Bistro. The food was wonderful. My 10 year old nephew was with me and he tried snails for the first time. Surprisingly, he loved them! The experience was positively memorable. We were luck enough to meet the Sous Chef, Steven Mary. He has a wonderful personality, warm and knowledgable. He even sent a surprise dish to the table. He made the experience priceless.
Pros: Sous Chef came out to the table to talk to us
Cons: nothing I can think of
