I'm a new student at Lani's. I had heard of her store from several people within my line of work; they all said she was the best source for anything related to needlepoint. When I received a canvas from her store as a gift, I showed up one Saturday looking for help and began taking classes that day! It's been over six months and I've never looked back. I've watched and experienced Lani bending backwards to help customers and students alike. You're never a stranger at Lani's. It's a fabulous store!

I've been a customer of Lani's for 20 years. I can't count the times I've been in the shop and have received the most considered and helpful advice to complete or make my purchases. Lani's design sense and artistic sensibilities are superb-I don't choose my needlepoint shop for their ass-kissing abilities-but for their professionalism and ability to help me complete my projects in the most breathtaking fashion. I have yet to see a shop in the SoCal area that compares to Lani's when it comes to fibers, canvasses or stitch guides and services. As a professional beader for world reknowned ice skating costumers, I know talent when I work with it. Lani is the best!

I had shopped at Lani's for several years before I finally broke down and started taking needlepoint classes about 5 years ago. Every time I have gone to her store, even before I took classes, I received nothing less than thoughtful and helpful advice. When you look at the canvases Lani designs you see a true artist. And when you see the canvases Lani has needlepointed, you can see the depth of her talent and artistic sensibilities. My needlepoint canvases are truly works of art because of Lani. There are other needlepoint stores in my area, but none of them offer the selection, expertise, artistic sense or helpful atmosphere that I have found at Lani's. I have to agree with the statement that I have yet to see a shop in the SoCal area that compares to Lani's when it comes to fibers, canvasses or stitch guides and services. Lani is the best!

This is Lani. I was shocked and confused to see these reviews. We are known for being the FRIENDLIEST needlepoint store in town. I remember the woman who said she called while I was teaching and that was NOT what she wanted. I am alone at night with my class and not really open. I am just there to please 8 women who are doing wonderful projects. So, this leaves me to wonder who these people are posting negative listings about me....MAYBE THE OWNERS OF SIT AND STITCH? HMMMMM. Please feel free to come in and have a wonderful experience.

I called just to ask for store hours once and all I got was a grumpy, rude woman telling me that she closed at 8:30 and that she was teaching a class so she won't be able to help me at all. And all I called for was for store hours. I hadn't read the reviews before this brief encounter but I can tell my her manners over the phone that this lady was rude. And the rest of the reviewers here are right, there are other yarn shops near Studio City with much more friendlier, helpful staff. Try Sit n' Stitch in Toluca Lake, the staff are very friendly.

The women here are RUDE, there are better places to shop, Los Angeles is full of beautiful stores with positive attitudes. Find a different yarn shop and support friendly businesses. PROS: good location CONS: poor service
