The Red Caboose Motel and Gift Shop is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you love trains. The prices are not that expensive either. They have a lot of actual caboose cars that have been converted into hotel rooms. There is a lot of room in the cabooses as well. They are very nice inside. There is a bathroom, TV, table, bed, and couch in the one we stayed in. I highly recommend staying here.

More
The annual whoopie pie festival at Hershey Farm Restaurant was a fun destination for the family. It was quite a bit more understated than I anticipated, given all of the advertising I saw about it on their web site and in print. I would estimate that there were a couple hundred people there all together. The signage for the festival was also non-existent. Those complaints aside, there was good schlocky fun to be had. Lots of whoopie pies and a whoopie pie slingshot to try, whoopie pie races, whoopie pie eating contest. There were pony rides and a classic car show. It held the family's interest for several hours. We're probably on board for next years event.

The Historic Strasburg Inn is a great place to stay, especially for weekend getaways. They have over 100 rooms, a heated pool and fitness center. Also, your pets are welcome. Some rooms have fireplaces as well. There are two wonderful restaurants at the Inn, both of which are fine dining. The rooms are beautiful and clean and the service is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

More
The Strasburg Railroad is a great attraction for the entire family. Your ticket price buys you about a 45 minute ride on the train. They take you from Strasburg and head east towards Paradise, PA. At the end the train stops so that the engine can change to the other end. Along the ride one of the employees gives you a guided verbal tour of the country side. On a nice day there is a picnic park that you can get off at and then catch one of the later trains back to Strasburg. While you are off the train you can also go pick mums and pumpkins at the nearby farm.
If you need a meal while you are ther you can pay a little higher price for a ticket and enjoy lunch on the Lee Brenner dining car. If you don;t want to eat on the train then stop at the restaurant on the grounds for some delicius chicken corn soup.
Also be sure to visit the spacious gift shop for some train souveniers!
