The annual whoopie pie festival at Hershey Farm Restaurant was a fun destination for the family. It was quite a bit more understated than I anticipated, given all of the advertising I saw about it on their web site and in print. I would estimate that there were a couple hundred people there all together. The signage for the festival was also non-existent. Those complaints aside, there was good schlocky fun to be had. Lots of whoopie pies and a whoopie pie slingshot to try, whoopie pie races, whoopie pie eating contest. There were pony rides and a classic car show. It held the family's interest for several hours. We're probably on board for next years event.

Like many Lancaster County Restaurants, Hershey Farm Restaurant is a smorgasbord buffet. So you should come hungry, there is a lot of food on display. The food is generally plain and Pennsylvania Dutch, so if you like that type of cooking you will do well here. I found that there was nothing spectacular about the food except for the sheer quantity.
