Where else can you see the world's largest hunk of exposed granite? You can't, because Atlanta has it right in their backyard. The face of the rock has a giant relief sculpture of Confederate leaders which is just cool. Of course a lot of us have never been to Mount Rushmore which is the only place to see a large sculpture like this. Stone mountain is also home to museums, hotels, and more outside recreation that you can shake a stick at. Make sure you take a ride on the railroad that goes around the entire piece of granite. Other highlights you don't want to miss is the nightly laser show that happens as darkness takes the park. And, check out the car museum if you're a car nut like me. Get ready to spend the day at the park unless you just stop in for the laser show at night - perfect for a date.

Stone Mountain park is the best, they have laser show almost everynight. Especially weekend is the best to see, they include firework that seems like July 4.
Many activities to do also beside sit there and watch the show.
Recommend to spend a whole day at Stone Mt. Park to enjoy the whole view.

You need a new axe? They got 'em. More than you can swing something at. I bought a sweet used Les Paul from them for about 1/2 of the retail price. Service is great and they let you touch the stuff which is nice. If you buy something big tell them to throw some freebies in and they just might. :) Nice place right off the main drag.
