Adobe Blues Restaurant

Adobe Blues is a Tex-Mex restaurant a little bit off of Richmond Terrace. It comes with all the typical Tex-Mex decor- hacienda design, tile, fireplace, even the bulls' head. They have one of the wides varieties of beer menus on the island. It makes me very happy that I can go in and have a Fransiskaner any time or experiment with any number of others. They also make a tasty sangria. Their food is absolutely fantastic. They serve a fantastic spicy tomato dressing with their salads. You must try this! Their pecos chicken is delicious. BIG PLUS! They are vegetarian friendly. Those dishes include calabacitas (squash and corn with rice and tortillas) and blue corn enchiladas. Yummy! They often have live bands play. It's hard to do anything other then listen to the music because of how loud they are but they are always entertaining. Drive on over. It is so worth it. more

Ah, Adobe Blues, you are the local haunt all local haunts wish to be. Great Tex-Mex food, but with more of a old west cowboy theme than a pinata and Mexican vacation theme. You have the best, hands-down fajitas I have ever eaten. Sometimes I go there to eat, and sometimes I go there just to have a few beers (of at least 100 they stock) or a tequila (their special collection is superb) with their always-friendly bartenders. And unlike most places that serve enchiladas, you aren't bombarded with bad stereotypical Mexican music. it's either jazz (hence Adobe BLUES) on the stereo, or a live blues band every wed. and sat. night. If you have lived on Staten Island for a few years, you know this place. But if you've just moved here, don't waste time in getting here. It will quickly become a once-a-week tradition. more
