Knight's Action Park is a great place to go for Family fun. It is an amusement park that has a waterslide, a wave pool, a lazy river that you can float in and relax, and children's water activities. There is also a golf course and go-kart racing. You can buy food and refreshments or you can bring a cooler with a picnic style lunch. There is also a driven in movie theatre that is awesome. It is just like back in the old days. They show new releases also. It is a great place to take your family and friends and it is a vacation area close to home.

The Hoogland Center for the Arts has recently been completely renovated. I had my wedding reception there. It is a beautiful facility on its own, but it is made more beautiful by the life is has brought to downtown. There is a constant stream of people - young and old, rich and poor, black and white - going in and out of the facility for dance classes, theater practice, music recitals, lectures and who knows what else. The facility is wonderful and the staff are very kind and helpful.

Considering that the only four theatres in town are all Kerasotes, one does not really have any other option if they want to catch a new movie at the theatre in town. The largest theatre of them all is Showplace 12, located on West Wabash. This location just opened in the fall of 2003, after closing another theatre. This theatre offers 12 rooms (if you couldn't tell by the name!). So if you want a night out, whether it be alone, of with a guest, go catch a flick at Kerasotes!

Even though I believe it now costs two dollars to see movies at this theatre, it has always been known as the dollar show! When you want to see movies that have been out for a while, this is the place to go. Once movies have been played long enough at the bigger theatres, they move here. So whether you just didn't have the time to go catch the flick, or are waitng for it to come out on DVD, go to White Oaks and you can see a much cheaper movie.

Located in Lincoln Park, Nelson Center has two swimming pools, one for young children, and another for everyone else that has a water slide! There are concession stands, which are available if you become hungry or thirsty!
