we just ate here on april 18, 2009. what a nice place! 3 (adults) of us ate for $43 - not too hard on the wallet. my 1 year old was getting fussy and one of the staff came over and walked her around by the aquarium so that i could finish my meal. the interior is very attractive. a beautiful aquarium and scattered plants/decorations make it inviting. the food was exceptional. we had the pad thai jae, golden curry, and a veggie dish with an excellent sauce. all of the dishes were very tasty and met our expectations. great place, we will return. Pros: friendly staff, tasty food, beautiful environment

Love the Thai food here. We ate yellow curry and pad thia. Both were excellent dishes. The curry was loaded with vegetables. The peanut sauce here is fabulous. This place is five stars.

The food is consistently good. If your from a cultural epicenter like San Francisco, it may not be up to your standards, but you didn't come to Tahoe for the Thai food. It's the best we have to offer and it's good enough for the locals. A top-notch Lake Tahoe restaurant! p.s. lunch specials are very affordable, filling and uncrowded.

We just moved to the area and are huge thai food fans. We drove around for about an hour before coming accros Orchids and hearing that it is rated the top Thai restauraunt in South Lake. Man, kinda dissapointing. I have to say the Tom Ka soup was good, but the pad thai was average, the Prik king was below average, very little flavor, and the portions were small. I'm used to eating thai food with tons of concentrated flavor and spices and this didn't do it for us. Pros: Tom ka soup Cons: the rest of the food , little flavor

We went to this place only because its one of the few that actually had reviews and that serves the South Lake area. We visited them on Dec 27, 2006. First off there is no more free soup, the portions are relatively small so while they may look cheap it ran us $111 for dinner for four (with no alcohol), and we found the house special - pumpkin curry - different, but not special. The noodles were a bit sweet for our taste, but the pud thai, veggie soup, and especially the mangoe/sweet rice dessert were acceptable. Service was okay and there is a very nice aquarium with a two seat table near by. Pros: clean, easy to get to if you are coming in on 50 Cons: not exciting in presentation or taste
