Surrounded by Tahoe's breathtaking natural beauty, this Indian restaurant was excellent food with great service for a modest price. Their specialty is the House Wrap which I would highly recommend. As it is a family owned business, the service is one of a kind and the overall atmosphere is comfortable. I would definitely tell everyone to go here!

Every time I visit South Shore, I always go to Sprouts, it's a must do tradition of mine. I always order the same thing when I'm there, and since I can't go up often, it is always better each time. Last time I was up there I took my friend who is vegan, she mentioned it as the best vegan food that she's ever had. Which is good seeing is that she is a still recovering anorexic. Now when I go there, it's even more exciting, because she always asks to come to Tahoe with me. The location there is amazing too. Right by the lake and next to a yarn store, I love to knit during my free time so it's a for sure plus. Rock on Sprouts!!
Pros: Waiters are always smiling and always upbeat.
Cons: At times it can be a bit crowded, it should be bigger.

we just ate here on april 18, 2009. what a nice place! 3 (adults) of us ate for $43 - not too hard on the wallet. my 1 year old was getting fussy and one of the staff came over and walked her around by the aquarium so that i could finish my meal. the interior is very attractive. a beautiful aquarium and scattered plants/decorations make it inviting. the food was exceptional. we had the pad thai jae, golden curry, and a veggie dish with an excellent sauce. all of the dishes were very tasty and met our expectations.
great place, we will return.
Pros: friendly staff, tasty food, beautiful environment

I don't know if it's being in the mountains or being in the Tahoe basin, but the Lake Tahoe Pizza company makes the best pizza I've ever had, and I used to be a pizza maker. The Tahoe Delight is beyond compare. Fresh veggies.. including artichoke hearts, tasty meats and a braided crust make their pizza outstanding.

If you want sushi and a fun atmosphere, this is where you need to go! We go every year on President's Day Weekend, (sometimes twice) with a large group (10-14 people). We always expect to have a lengthy wait due to our large party size, but the staff has always been very accommodating for us. The sushi is to die for, all the fish is very fresh, and the sake flows very freely there! So if you are looking for a good time before you go out for the evening, this is where you need to go!
Pros: atmosphere, fresh fish, staff, chefs
Cons: the small size

Wow! My husband and I went visited this restaurant while on our honeymoon in Tahoe. With only 7 tables in the entire restaurant, you need to make a reservation, but it is worth it! I have not had a better meal from start to finish in quite a long time. We started with the garlic bread, a great start, then the fettuccine alfredo appetizer, yum! We had a good wine with a good price recommended by the waitstaff. Then we had the special, pan seared lamb chops and the veal with mushrooms and capers. The veal was good, but the lamb chops were delicious!!! Finally, we ended with the famous white chocolate ice cream, which was sensational! If you are in South Lake Tahoe and want a nice, romantic dinner, we definitely recommend Cafe Fiore!

From the outside this place looks pretty weird. But lets admit it, it is pretty weird. You pass right by it (because its no South Lake Tahoes main road) anytime you are going to the hotels or Heavenly Ski Resort. Its a really weird looking shack of a place. It hosts what looks like a hand painted sign and stands next to a run down fence. It serves burgers (obviously.) They are pretty good (I mean its just a whole bunch of stuff piled together) and are moderatly priced. You sit either in your own car or on some picnic tables. Not fine dining at all. Just somewhere to grab a bite and go. If you are the type that needs fine living, dont go here.

Izzy's is the shizz... I like smoking a fat azz L and rolling through therr for a burger and some fries, their fish sandwich, then a dog with relish. Fuuck therr relish is good. Wash that all down with a brew an a blunt and my dayz been Izzified. High-ly recommended. Word.
Pros: This place is dope post fat-azz blunt. Once I ripped bong prior to coming to work and that was favorable too. Plus this place is romantic as fuuck.
Cons: Izzy's is a non-smoking establishment.
