I nearly wept when the blue-eyeshadowed, Aqua-Netted waitress asked how soft I wanted my poached eggs. It's that kind of place. The breakfast is your basic eggs and pancakes (breakfast until 3pm daily), and dinner ranges from basic sandwiches and burgers tto meatloaf plates. There's a full bar and a couple beers on tap. No cell phone talking is allowed, which is just as well since the place is tiny. All the classic rock you could want. Tea aficionados note - they have ready-brewed tea, so no annoying shoving of a teabag onto a wet napkin. Touches like this make the Rosebud a favorite.

Housed in a 1947 Worcester Semi-Streamliner (that's been renovated), this place has a cool vibe. Between that and the food (typical diner fare done well with some great seafood choices thrown in), this place is very popular. Locals and regulars (same thing, really) can be found here any time of day, and on the weekend people from all parts stuff the place to the gills (be prepared to wait if you're not an early riser).

The Rosebud has been around in Davis forever. They do a good job with classic diner fare, and I definitely prefer it for brunch on the weekends, though that's when most everybody else goes too. Their dinner menu is decent, and the classic standbys are good here... but stick to the burgers and fries and items like that. Their salads aren't very fresh at all. The service can be up or down, but dining in a true old diner car is a fun experience anyway!

I went to Rosebud last summer to try it out. Anyone who has ever passed by will notice the brightly colored diner car, which is what initially attracted me. The atmosphere is cute, the service is average, and the food is also average. My only complaint is that Rosebud isn't open typical diner hours (ie into the wee hours of the night), but that isn't Rosebud's fault--it is the city of Somerville's. I recommend the Rosebud for a quick bite to eat or for a fun change of pace.

This diner in Davis Square has a very friendly wait staff. The food is homey and the price is right. A great place to drop in for some comfort food. They serve all day breakfast and daily specials.
