Words can barely describe the food at Dali's. The tapas (small appetizer portions of dishes) that are served here are miniature works of art (fitting name)!
They serve a big basket of bread with your meal, so you can dip it in all the wonderful sauces that come with the tapas. There are about 30-40 tapas to choose from, including many choices for vegetarians.The place gets very crowded so get there early or expect to wait. They do have a great bar with a great wine selection.

My friends keep coming back to Orleans for its fabulous mojitos which have a fruity kick to them. I come back for a cold glass of chardonnay and a window seat after work, or for an outdoor appetizer (they commandeer Comcast's parking lot after hours, and it's not as bad as you'd think) in summer. The place gets really hopping at night and is packed on weekends. The food is usually good and the Sox game, for better or for worse, shows on big screens all over the place. It gets loud in here so prepare to scream after sundown. Also a decent brunch goes until 3 or 4 and is never crowded, although the atmosphere is awfully sterile.

I actually know nothing about Dr. Guerin except that he employs Dr. Po. Dr. Po is very nice but quite incompetent I think. She did two fillings for me about 6 months ago, and I have had problems with both of them since day one. (One's pretty loose, the other too big.) I'll have to have both fixed next time I go for a check-up, but frankly, I won't go back to her.'
Writing a year later: I went to another doctor in Dr. Guerin's office, Dr. Marhew, and frankly my husband and I didn't think much of him either.
So Dr. Guerin's office, as conveniently close to the Tufts campus as it is, is probably best avoided.

I've only used two different vet office in my life, this one and one in California. I liked both and can't say that either distinguished itself in any special way. Porter Square Vets is just nice, friendly, offers treats for the animals and is conveniently accessible to many Somerville and Cambridge residents, with easy parking up front. The vet was always very nice and patient in explaining my cats situation. So, while I have no amazing stories to tell, I also have no bad ones, and I give them a thumbs up.

Tacos Lupita is the only place in som/cambridge where you can get some authentic food. It's very tasty. Mind you this is a taco joint - in & out. However, I don't think the owners are that pre-occupied with hygine and cleanliness. I guess it's part of the charm that gives off that "authentic feel", but still....

Yoshi's is a sweet little place in Powderhouse Square, Somerville (a short walk from Davis). They have an excellent lunch box which I think is the best value for lunch in the area. For $7.00 or so you get: an entree (tofu, tempura, salmon, beef, etc.), dumplings, salad, maki, seaweed salad, lettuce salad, miso soup, etc. Can be done all veg as well! Always fresh and tasty, clean decor, very pleasant service. Great neighborhood place.

When I first moved to Davis Sq, it cost $4.50 to see a movie. Times have changed, and so have the prices - but it's still a great place to catch a second run flick. Their concessions are definitely cheaper than the chain theaters - and the popcorn doesn't come out of a 50 gallon garbage bag that was popped sometime last year - its fresh and real and good. My only complaint about the theater is that the seats are really uncomfortable - and the projection isn't so great. They must have older machines - b/c there are always dust particles and "scratches" running up and down the margin of the screen. But, for the price, it's still a good place!

I guess I should have known from the name, but this place is not really where I wanted to get cat food. The place is crowded and dusty and I wondered how old the cat food was. Having said that, the tiny selection of non-fish supplies was pretty good, with decent brands, and the owner was helpful. Open odd hours - call first if you're in a pinch.
