I agree with Stacey on this one, this is definitely not the best sushi place I've been to. The miso soup tasted like throw up and the salad was a little wilted. Other than that, the sushi was actually pretty good! Normally that would be enough to qualify a sushi place as good but when you are in the mood for a sit down dinner this place fails. I'd suggest trying take out from here.

Last night I went to Tip Top in Cambridge/Somerville looking for some good sushi. Unfortunately, I did not find it. I ordered a miso soup, salad, and sashimi. I don't know how you screw up miso soup but it tasted so toxic I had to send it back. Second, I don't know how you screw up salad but they did. At the very least, the sashimi was good. I think they are trying to accomplish too many genres of food to master any one kind. If you do choose to venture over to Tip Top, I would stick with the sushi or sashimi.

Tip Top Thai is friendly, cheap and tasty. There's a 10% discount with student ID and it's a good place to grab a bite on a weekend when you don't want to wait 40 minutes to get in somewhere. The service can be spotty though, and I've had some repeated mishaps there - chicken with cashew nuts arriving sans nuts three times (the staff, with some disbelief, kindly supplied the cashews in a cup each time), green tea instead of ginger tea with the waitress insisting it's ginger - that kind of thing. Most of the time though it's all worth it in the end. Don't be afraid to chase down your waitress if you think she's forgotten about you - she may very well have. The sushi is also good so don't be afraid to try it. The spring rolls are gorgeous. No liquor license in spite of the mysterious "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" poster on the wall.
