This is a pretty fun place to go with friends. Like Stacey said, it's definitely a college crowd, and being years out of college I felt a little old talking to people who were seniors or just graduated college. That's why I think this place is best to go with a group of friends you are looking to catch up with. There isn't much room to dance so if you're looking for a club type place this isn't for you. This bar is a pretty relaxing environment and good for a lowkey weeknight out. Their bathrooms are clean too which is always a plus !

The Joshua Tree in Somerville is a great place for drinks with friends. They have oversized booths and an oversized bar. They have tons of beer on tap and offer pitchers of beer as well. They play a large variety of music but there isn't a lot of room to dance if the mood hits you. Its definitely a college crowd so bring your patience with you. The Joshua Tree is fairly low key and definitely a fun time!

I have one word to describe this place. LOUD. We went on a Friday night which happened to be 80s night. The music was great, but so loud that you could not talk to anyone. It was not too crowded and the crowd seemed to keep to themselves. It was an ok time, not sure if i would return there if I did live in the area.

Well, ditsy women, asshole men -- ta daah -- meat market. Joshua Tree seems a bit out of place in Davis. When you go in, you'll understand. It's more of a Brighton/Allston type of place where college girls hang out hoping to hook up with some late 20something guys. Do yourself a favor: if you want to hang out someplace in Davis on weekend night try Orleans or the Burren. You'd be much better off.

We refer to the Joshua Tree at "The Tree". Having lived in Davis Square for over 8 years, the Tree is our old-standby, and it hasn't changed much over time. That can be a good thing and a bad thing. The menu can get boring, though they do try to add diversity with their specials. The quality of service can really be hit or miss. We've certainly had meals where the food comes in 15 minutes, it takes 20 minutes to eat - but then we wait 45 to get our check! It can also be hard to get a refill - you're tempted to get up and go to the HUGE bar yourself in order to fill your pint. The Tree has become more focused on it's nightlife atmosphere - the place is packed with Tufts kids on certain nights after 9pm, and then any "restaurant" service goes right out the window... as well as any hope of being able to talk to your companion across the table! The Tree has a warm spot in my heart - but I hope they continue to cater to the faithful locals, and not just the drunken college crowd!
