Rudy's is just fine for those who want a good margarita and a decent meal. It's definitely not authentic mexican cuisine, but rather a east coast attempt at Tex-Mex. I do enjoy their tacos, their queso dip, and their various margaritas. They re-did the whole interior about 6 years ago and it's a pleasant atmopshere. The service is generally quick, but it can definitely be crowded an noisy on the weekends.

I will never fully understand why there is not one good mexican or tex-mex restaurant in all of Boston. This is yet another bad mexican restaurant that I could have gone without trying. The food is way overpriced for it is--along the lines of taco bell. In fact, taco bell would have been a better choice, since the prices there are much more accurate. I ordered the taco sampler which consisted of a beef taco, a chicken taco, and a bean and cheese taco. The plate cost about $12, but it tasted more like $5. The rice was very bland and oddly chemical-tasting and the beans tasted like they came from a can. I looked around the crowded restaurant and wondered to myself why this place was so popular. The atmosphere was somewhat interesting and quirky, but I wouldn't recommend this place for anything more than a casual drink and maybe an appetizer, and ever that is pushing it.
