I adore the Clarendon Laundromat because a real person will change your $20 bill for the change machines (except on Sunday when there's only sometimes an attendant at the window). I adore them because they decorate for the holidays. I adore them because they warn you to park your car legally so you don't get towed. And I adore them because they keep the place clean and humming and have a good selection of magazines and a soda machine. A happy place to do laundry. Last wash at 8, last dry at 8:30, and they mean it. Come before 10:30am on weekends if you don't want a crowd, and it does get crowded.

I have been a customer of the Somerville Ave store since it was a Brooks store. I find the pharmacy quite efficient and they are always in stock with my prescriptions. The general store as a whole is quite friendly and I will continue to frequent them as always.

I just brought my cat to Porter Square Vets and was very impressed by their operation. We didn't wait to long and the vet who saw Bartlet was really great. She asked us alot about him, listened to us, gave us some advice and explained his medical condition and the x-rays she was going to give him, along with checking his eyes, ears, etc. She obviously liked cats and was comfortable around Bartlet, which made him more relaxed. I'll definately keep taking Bartlet there.

Great service. They are really taking care of your cats/dogs. They also do pet grooming which is really handy. While they do pet sitting, I usually ask them to do the washing as well so I am not wasting my time. They really care with your pets, and are dependable. I would recommend them to you

Hawk Cleaners has done my dry cleaning for me, sewn coat buttons and hemmed pants just fine. I like walking by and seeing the lady's spectacles sitting at the sewing machine by the window. Be forewarned that women's shirts cost over $4 to dry clean, way more than the men's. I wouldn't necessarily take a fancy job here but for basic cleaning and tailoring Hawk is fine. The people are friendly and the work isn't shipped out.

...Mostly because it is literally around the corner from our house. There is nothing really remarkable about this drycleaner. They do a fine job - whenever we get suits and other types of clothing back, they are always clean and nicely pressed. The price is average. We brought a down comforter there once to get it cleaned after our cat had an "accident" on the comforter. The stain was not fully gone, but the smell was gone and it seemed clean (we were fine with this since we always use a duvet cover, so we'll never see the stain anyway.

Brooks is 100 times better than it was before the renovations, for those who missed the dank aisles and dim lighting. It's a pleasure to go there now as you can actually see what's on the shelves and the place is clean. The pharmacy closes at 7 on Sundays which feels early - the CVS in Porter Square is 24 hours if you have an emergency. Delightful makeup selection. Also a pretty good fridge case with decent ice cream.

I worked at a Brooks Pharmacy in a different town as a teenager, so I have always felt loyal to Brooks over CVS and other competitors. This store location is the closest one to my house and it is easy to find. It is on Somerville Ave across from a Dunkin Donuts. The staff has seemed less helpful and friendly than other Brooks Pharmacies I have been in, but they are helpful enough if you ask them for assistance. The store has a clean feel and it is pretty large, so they have a good selection of items for sale. I believe it is open until 9:00 on most nights, so if you need something in the evening, make sure you get there before 9:00!
