Brunch at Johnny D's goes from 9-2:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is busier by far and you should come before 10:30am if you don't want to be waiting in a packed bar for an hour. The pancakes, poached eggs, catfish, and especially the oatmeal (o the oatmeal!) are all excellent. For those who used to come here and hate the coffee, it's recently improved and is now very good. There's half price dinner Tuesday-Friday from 4:30-6:30pm and it is a great deal - high end salmon plate for $7? Excellent. The spinach pear salad is bigger than your head. The desserts are dangerous. If you come here for dinner and linger after 8pm the staff will ask if you're staying for the show - if not, get ready to be out of there by 9, or pay a cover to stay. Kitchen is closed on Monday but there's free pizza and trivia in the bar. Oh yeah, good shows too. Junior Brown, Sleepy Labeef, the Weepies, Beatlejuice - quality acts.

I can't say that I've been here for any other meal except for Sunday Brunch. They have a great Jazz brunch on Sunday that will help to slow down the last day of the weekend. There are no reservations, so while you are waiting they have papers strewn about to keep you occupied. The brunch food is delicious and filling. Their pumpkin pancakes with cream cheese butter were to die for. They have all sorts of savory brunch items as well and their homemade sausage is great. Definitely try them out one sunday afternoon.

This restaurant just recently changed chefs and redid their entire menu so I can only review it based on the old menu. They old food was pretty good and their prices are also good. They have half off prices between 4:30-6:30 on weekdays. The atmosphere here is very music oriented. There is always a band practicing or playing so it can be somewhat loud. The drinks in the bar are pretty bad with average prices. There is only street parking available.
