I have never trusted many people to cut my hair. When I moved and couldn't see my barber anymore I decided to try the salon where I went to work out. I couldn't ask for a better place to get my haircut. MaryLouise did my fade exactly the way I wanted, better than my barber. The staff is very courteous and friendly and the owner is a really nice guy. I recommend this place whether or not you chose to work out at the gym. In one word------FANTASTIC......MaryLouise gave me a cut and blowdry and it absolutely made me feel beautiful and happy......I felt like she spent a little more time than I am used to sitting for a cut and blowdry but I didn't mind because she made my hair better than any hairdresser has made it----the quality was more than I could ask for. Besides, I go to the salon to relax....not get treated like a I'm in an assembly line. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hairdresser and salon to anyone. Pros: Quality.....friendly staff....great location.....courteous service Cons: time spent at salon...but worth it!!!!!!

I have never colored my hair in my life....but one day I wanted to do something different and for me, something daring......my search online led me to FrancesRay Jules and a woman named MaryLouise......to make a long story short......It is a dare I will never regret! While it was only a single process, demi permanent, she not only helped me make a comfortable and complimentary choice.......she also did a great job! Plus the advice and education I got about taking care of my new look was so thoughtful and so considerate......I might just go with her next suggestion----highlights!!!!! Hairdressers are a dime a dozen and finding a good one is like finding a needle in a haystack. Well, I found a great hairdresser at FrancesRay Jules----a woman named MaryLouise. She did a great job not only giving me a cut that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE.....but also educating me about taking better care of my hair. The staff in general is friendly, helpful and courteous. I will definitely go back again.....and again.....I definitely got my money's worth at this great salon! Pros: Just having a great hairdresser to trust and go to is enough!!!!! Cons: None

What a great place to get your hair cut. Mary knows what she's talking about, and gave me a lot of suggestions on who to keep my long straight hair healthy while growing it out to donate to locks-of-love. She corrected what other hairdressers had done wrong with my hair, and I look forward to going back when I'm ready to donate. Pros: Knowledgeable staff, personal service Cons: A little out of the way for Back Bay dwellers, but worth the trip.

I was looking for a new salon to go to being new in town. I did a search on the internet and FrancesRay Jules came right up.....since it was close to where I lived and worked, I decided to try it out.....Well, I was very surprised that with a salon so small, the service you get makes you feel so important and pampered. A woman named MaryLouise did my hair and I have to say she gave me a great color and a cut that I can definitely work with myself! I will definitely go back and I will definitely recommend it to anyone I meet! Pros: Parking, convenience, friendly Cons: Size of salon-------but that is insignificant in comparison to what you get!

I hate to sound mean but I do want to share my experience - to make a long story short, it was awful. I went in with a picture AND described what I wanted, emphasizing that I really didn't want a-n-y length taken off. I was a little shocked when the woman parted my hair from my ears forward and promptly cut off LITERALLY 8 inches but I figured it was part of the process. When I inquired about blending it in with the rest of my hair (angling, razoring...anything...) the owner, Ben, came over and for 5 minutes spoke in jargon about how it wasn't possible because whoever last cut my hair hadn't "connected the layers." Well, I don't have layers so I'm sure he's right in saying they didn't connect them. Secondly, when I pressed a little harder about really wanting her to blend/angle it, he scolded me from across the room saying, "You keep saying that, but I already told you" etc. etc. which I thought was rude and unprofessional. Needless to say, I had to go to another salon to have my glorified mullet fixed and am very upset to have to get inches taken off the rest of my hair in order to fix it. It takes a long time to grow that much hair...I will say, however, that the prices were fair. Unfortunately, in this case, if I had known how it was going to turn out I would have coughed up the extra money and gone somewhere that the employees and owner listen a little better and don't treat you as though YOU are the problem. Pros: price Cons: employees, poor customer service

Best salon! Ben and Rich are great. I am getting married in the fall and could not find one person that could do great makeup and hair. Went to frances ray jules salon and they do an unbelievable job. my hair & makeup trial was beautiful! I cannot wait to see what they will do for the wedding day. It is a great salon and everyone is so friendly which makes it even better!!!! Pros: very friendly comfortable atmosphere, the work they do is great!!!!!!
