Not only is the food delicious, but it is refreshing and very fulfilling! Pros: food!!!!!!!!!!!! Cons: nothing

After spending two years living in Tokyo, my family and I were anxious to find an authentic Japanese restaurant here in Washington. We happened across Hakata and it quickly became a family favorite. The menu has a variety of items including sushi, sashimi, chicken, pork, seafood, soups, etc. When we go, we always try to get something new and we've never been disappointed. Everything is wonderful!! The restaurant is very clean and the staff very welcoming and attentive. Anytime we're feeling a bit nostalgic for Japan, we head to Hakata. It's not often you find a restaurant that you can honestly say is authentic, but Hakata is. When we go there, it's just like being in one of the little restaurants we loved in Tokyo. I recommend Hakata without hesitation! Pros: menu variety, great staff, EXCELLENT food Cons: Closed on Monday

Sugi is the best sushi chef I have ever come across. His wife still frequents Japan on a regular basis and the service there is outstanding. If you've gone there once and sat at the sushi bar you will always be remembered. Sugi has excellent instincts on making anything you please and then making more that he would recommend! Best sushi ever, if it wasn't such a drive I would make it the ONLY sushi I would eat
