Thomas & Howard Cash & Carry is a little known store in Shelby. It's like a very small Sam's Warehouse or Costco. The only thing is they do have a few single things you can buy. But most of it is bulk. I go there and buy drinks and paper towels, that sort of thing. The price is just right. Many people, as another reviewer said, go there to buy cigarettes. I don't because I don't smoke, but I understand they are very inexpensive there. I am giving this place four stars, a "great" rating.

Western Union is the best and safest way to send money instantly to anyone. They even operate in several countries. They take cash as well as credit cards. The person who is supposed to get the cash can go into one of many stations, and every city has several, and present ID. He / She can then get the cash. It is quick and easy. In fact, most people use Western Union because it is the best. Good luck.

Food Lion rocks. I won't buy any meat from this store, or any Food Lion store due to the investigation by one of the news magazines years ago (not this store, but the chain). I am sure it's fine now, but I can't get past the thoughts. But I'll buy anything else here. In fact, if I don't ene dup going to Walmart, this is the store I go to for groceries. I like the fact that it's big. It has everything you need. I recommend this store at four stars. It is located at the intersection of 180 and 74.

I love going into Bilo because they are a great place to shop. It's a supermarket that's wonderful. They frequently have sales, with your VIC (Frequent Shopper) card. Those are usually buy one, get one free, and you can get some tremendous savings then. The prices are competitive with other places in Shelby. They are located at the intersection of South Post Road and Dixon Blvd. Their headquarters are in Maudlin, South Carolina, so it is nice to patronize stores that have their headquarters nearby (seems things go better! LOL).

This particular Winn DIxie has a problem with keeping the store up to date. What I mean is even after they clean it, the store looks and feels dirty. I have had problems with all frozen foods there, so I don't buy frozen foods there anymore. I also have had problems with their meat, so I don't buy meat there anymore. But everything else is ok, just watch expiration dates. UPDATE: This store has two weeks to close. Another Update as per another poster: The store has now officially closed. Sorry you weren't able to see this store, but you didn't miss anything.

Harris Teeter is my supermarket of choice. Besides being convenient to my home, the prices are good especially if you shop every week and watch out for sales. They frequently have buy one, get one free items, and if you use coupons, you can really save this way. They are a nice place to patronize, as most of the cashiers are friendly and nice and really cool. I have had a lot of problems over the years with this store, ranging from not having advertised specials in to rude cashiers to rude managers, etc. But that's to be expected in most stores these days. Harris Teeter is the best in Shelby, imo.

Harris Teeter is my kind of store. They are a great grocery store located on East Marion Street, just down from Blockbuster and Papa Johns. They are on the same strip as Subway and K and B Drug Store. I like their store a lot. It's cleaner than the other stores here, and they seem to take pride as a unit. The outside of the building is very well maintained as well. The stuff is more organized than most supermarkets, and I like the employees here as well. They are friendlier, too.
