5 East Restaurant is located at 5 East Marion Street, just down from the Winter House. They were recently voted by the Shelby Star readers as Best Place To Take a Date and some other honors, of which it slips my mind. They are great. The price for Shelby is expensive, but there are a lot of people who go there on a regular basis including me. I love going here because I like the wine selection. They have a fabulous selection of alcohol. Recommended highly!

On more than one occasion, the latest being this evening, my wife and I have been seated promptly with menus, only to be promptly ignored by numerous members of staff, including management, resulting in us getting up and leaving. We have contacted Applebee's corporate and regional offices and again been ignored. If you crave Applebee's that badly, drive to Gaffney, SC or Gastonia, NC nearby, and stay the heck away from Shelby, or else go up the road to Fatz, Ruby Tuesday, etc. if you have to dine in Shelby. The Applebee's in Shelby could care less about you or your business.
Pros: none
Cons: you name it, starting with being ignored by everyone who works there

I LOVE APPLEBEE'S. Especially the Carside To Go for pickups. I have ordered careside more than I've eaten inside the place - busy and on the go! I especially like the potatoes - creamed with the skins on I guess. Anyway, they're tops! And the steaks are awesome. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I ordered steak carside and it was tender, still hot, and flat out delicious!!! Applebee's is real good eatin' in the neighborhood of Shelby. Try it out if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed.

We go to Beefy's when our purse is near empty for a treat that doesnt feel like we spent so little. The cole slaw is the best. I enjoy their hot dogs the most although they have great fries and other foods that my family eats also. The service is quick at a drive thru only and packaged allowing you to get it home or to the park hot and ready to eat. They provide napkins and condiments also without you having to ask for them or charge you extra.

I love going into Bilo because they are a great place to shop. It's a supermarket that's wonderful. They frequently have sales, with your VIC (Frequent Shopper) card. Those are usually buy one, get one free, and you can get some tremendous savings then. The prices are competitive with other places in Shelby. They are located at the intersection of South Post Road and Dixon Blvd. Their headquarters are in Maudlin, South Carolina, so it is nice to patronize stores that have their headquarters nearby (seems things go better! LOL).

Blimpie Xpress 1034 is located in Walmart Super Center. They are nice and kind and willing to explain their menu in full. They are like Subway, only not near as good. But this Blimpie has a lot of specials, so it's cheaper than Subway. I love Blimpie for that reason. The food is not that expensive, and I like going there especially when I am doing my shopping at Walmart. I just grab a sandwich and go. But I make sure I don't get a messy one or I stay there and eat it.

Bojangles has the best biscuits anytime of the day. They service sausage, chicken etc all day long. The prices are wonderful along with the service. They are located very close to my home so I have no problem with Bojangles. The only problem is I may go to often.

Bojangles' #630 is my choide for Bojangles' restaurants. This particular place is located at 1801 East Dixon Blvd, at the Shell Oil Station at the intersection of South Post Road and East Dixon. I love them. They are nice and kind and willing to help you decide on something since their menu is quite large. I love going here for breakfast, and it is quite crowded then. Parking is outstanding, and they do have a drive-thru.
