Diamond Pawn is located near Patelli's Pizza on South Lafayette Street. I simply love going there because quite frankly I never know what I will find. They have weird items such as golf balls. I don't mean weird, I guess. I mean different items than other pawn shops have. I like this pawn shop better than all the others. Parking is good, and I like the location (centrally located). It's also a home-owned business. Recommended highly.

Sunset Drive-in Movie Theater is one of only 400 or so drive-in theaters in America. It is really neat to say that such a small town as Shelby has one. I enjoy going there, and it is very inexpensive. You can use the outside speakers or the radio or both for as your speakers for the movie. I have found the speakers outside lack a lot to be desired, so we only use the radio. It is much better since most cars have many speakers in there anyway. The movie theater is always busy, and I love going there.

Challenger Amusement Park, located on Highway 180 North in Shleby, North Carolina, is a great place to go for a day filled with fun and excitement. The park has miniature golf, Par 3 golf course, bumper boats, go-carts, a climbing wall, a driving range, a batting cage, video games, and a lot more. I could not believe what all they had. Price was very reasonable, and I enjoyed it a lot. I went with two of my closest friends. I plan on going back sometime and taking my family. I really did not know it had so many activities. I do recommend this place!

Tammy Arrowoods's Stars of Tomorrow is a dance school. Besides gymnastics, this studio teaches all kinds of dance. The studio is nice and is always evolving. They, I believe, have a lot of shows, and I have seen their students perform at the county fair for several years. I have found her students to be a higher caliber of student in that they are much better in dancing than the other students enrolled at other dance studios. A theater used to be on Layfayette Street and by the Mall on Dixon Blvd. But they closed both of them and built a new, more advanced theater in front of the mall. I love it. They have a much better concession stand, a much better theater in general. They have a lot of showings, too, and I love it. The speakers are much better, and I like the hearing impaired assistance given. It is really neat to be able to watch a movie in a new theater. I only hope they keep the theater as nice as it is now. I have faith in the movie-goers, so hopefully in the years to come, it will be as nice as it is now. They have current new releases.

Mall Cinemas is located in Shelby at the Cleveland County Mall. If you use the main entrance off Dixon Blvd, you see it after you pass McDonalds. The cinemas are new. They are probably a year old now, and I really enjoy going to them. They are really neat because they have more movies playing at once, and the concessions don't look old. The building is always clean and well-kept, and I get the feeling they want it to stay that way. They, like a theatre should be, do not allow loud talking and "horse-play" unlike before when they were located at the other 2 cinemas (they closed when this new one was build. This is the only movie theatre in Shelby with the exception of the Sunset Drive-in Theater).
As another reviewer stated, this theater is good for Shelby and the community. A lot of people from other towns go to the Mall Cinemas.

Bobby's Music Shop is located on East Marion Street near Rogers Music Shop and Nautilus. It's a very small shop, but it's well-organized. They have a little bit of everything from equipment to music. If you are in the area, you might want to stop by and see if you find something you are interested in. For actual equipment, such as guitars, it's the place to go. For music, try a chain store. But the staff is helpful in here, and I like stopping in every once in a while. I always find something interesting or pick up a new pick or something

Cleveland County Fair advertises it is a fair for several surrounding counties. They say they have the largest in the state as far as attendance. However, their exhibits lack a lot. They have really gone down hill. There are hardly no exhibits this year, and every year it has dropped down. The only thing that was up this year were the pictures. But that was their fault because they have rules but they don't go by them. They pick and choose what rules they are going to follow. The new fair manager does keep changing things, and it's not a nice thing to do when you are new. He should get to know the folks and the fair because he tries and implements things.
The rides weren't up to par this year, and activities seemed to be lacking. Their did seem to be more vendors this year, but I don't think they'll come back next year.

GSCT is great for Shelby and the surrouding community. Greater Shelby Community Theatre always manages to find the best local actors and actresses. They are the best of the best, and I do not know how they manage to get them in every production. It is amazing what professionalism GSCT puts in each production. To me, like Donald Trump says to do, that is giving back to the community. They are making the best better by putting the best culture here in Shelby. Many from surrounding towns come here for the GSCT, and that says a lot. The reason I didn't give them five stars is because of their advertisting. I don't feel their advertisting department does enough to advertise it.

Cleveland County Historical Museum is a great place to go to learn about the history of Cleveland County. It was bigger than I thought it would be. It is located on the Court Square in uptown Shelby. They have canteens, guns, old farm equipment, photographs, and so much more. It is easy to find, and you can spend a long time in there. I looked at every exhibit. In fact, I spent so much time in there they came to me several times asking if I had any questions or needed help. I loved going here. I recommend the Cleveland County Historical Museum if you are in the area. You will be glad you visited.
