Mark's been my go-to guy for about six years now and recently moved into larger, nicer digs in the medical dental building on Olive Way downtown. So far, I've been nothing but please with he and his staff, and they've all done excellent work. He's big into pain management, and although I've not personally needed any work that might require those talents, I've heard from other patients of his that rave about just how easy and pain-free even some major procedures can be. Mark has a great "chair-side manner" too, especially if you appreciate a dry, sarcastic sense of humor.

This W Seattle B&J's is a great community gathering spot. Besides the ice cream, they just did free cone day (a big hit and we ran into lots of friends and neighbors) and do a weekly story-time on Tuesdays. Pre-school kids from 6:30-7 and school age from 7-7:30. Wear your PJ's and get a free topping. Just a nice place to enjoy the W Seattle friendly community.

I have a 15 month old who will be participating in the Little Goblins Halloween Carnival at Meadowbrook Community Center Saturday, October 22, 2005 (11am-1pm). The carnival is designed for the little guys and features games, prizes, food etc. You might also want to check out the other City of Seattle Community Centers for Halloween activities. I have attended a spooky swim at Rainier Beach Community Center and a Fright Night (not scary at all) in the past and have been immensely pleased with their Halloween alternatives. Hope this helps!

A week after I interviewed at Temporarily Yours, they called me with a job. It wasn't quite right, so I turned it down. A few days later, they called with a great job. They accommodated my schedule and paid me well. They worked with me to find a job that best fit me and worked within the limitations of the bus routes since I can't drive. I recommend them to all my friends looking for work.

The food at this thai place tastes less greasy and fresher than most of the Freemont Thai places and you get to eat in a lovely room. The bar downstairs is all "exotic" with inviting curved booths and wood carvings and gold paint. The drinks are great and they have interesting happy hour food so it's a great place for a secret rendevous. After drinks you can go upstairs for dinner and enjoy the lovely staff and completely different but totally cool "inside a Thai house" feel. The prices are about the same as the Thai resturants with no ambivance and the food is better!

More
After calling other jewelry shops in Seattle, Annie at Magnolia Custom Jewelry was the place to really come through.
In stereotypical style, I decided very last-minute to surprise my wife on Mother's Day by repairing her engagement ring that she hadn't worn in over a year. With only a couple of days to go, I called around to find out that many jewelry shops don't do their own repairs...they would have to "send it out." With no time to have the piece travel to & fro, I finally spoke with Annie who, after hearing my wishful story, said she would be willing to put me to the top of her list and try to have the job done before the Sunday holiday. After I dropped off the ring, she called her suppliers and personally picked up the non-standard gold for the repair, and completely finished the job in just over 24 hours. Oh, and it looked fabulous!
My new cache of romantic karma comes courtesy of Magnolia Custom Jewelry.

If you garden, need mulch and don't want to pay $10 an ounce at your local hardware, take the biggest car or truck you can borrow down to Sawdust Supply (under the West Seattle Freeway). They have pre-bagged mulch in several varieties (including a bark + municipal water treatment sludge mixture for the recycling-minded) for less than half the cost of the big box stores. If you use a lot, they also deliver bulk (by the yard). I recommend the SteerCo mix - half ground bark and half steer manure - great natural weed control plus soil amendment rolled into one.

I am a "lifer" at Lakeside, meaning I entered in grade 5 and stayed thru highschool. Lakeside school no doubt, prepared me for college. Some teachers were very good, others were mediocre, and a few were milking their tenure for all its worth. But all things considered, it was a good place to go to school.

More
My wife and I had the remodel from hell - halfway through demo, with the roof off and winter coming, we ran into unexpected foundation problems. In the end, we had to dig out 2/3 of our foundation, drive 85 steel pilings (and watch our hole in the ground fill with water for 2 unplanned months). Swenson Say & Faget were the folks that put us back on solid ground. We didn't have much contact with them (our architect hired them), but they cranked out the studies and structural recommendations that we needed to solve our problems. Can't speak for their interpersonal skills, but our house is still standing...

More
I have used Terry Banks exclusively for several years for drywalling, taping, mudding and sanding needs. He works with a crew of hangers but usually tapes and finishes all of his jobs alone. This satisfies the modern desires for efficiency--hanging the drywall--with the craft and patience required to finish it. T.W. Banks does excellent work for very little $$$$. More importantly, he is agreat guy who enjoys a laugh. What more could you ask for to ease those late in the construction process tensions than T.W. Banks. He is the man for your interior home improvement needs.
