They are amazing and wonderful...they just moved to a new building last Friday: it's on Northgate Way at 8th Ave. NE. I cannot say enough about them! The owners are wonderful; it's a family business; they way they do business is wonderful, and the designers and jewelers are amazing.

I was referred to Greenlake Jewelry Works by a friend who had her engagement ring created there. For my engagement ring, we took the diamonds from my grandmother's ring and had them put into a new setting which my husband and I designed together. We also had both of our wedding bands made there, to match the engagement ring. They all turned out exactly as we'd hoped and we feel so lucky to have jewelry that really reflects our style, yet incorporates a piece of my history, from my grandma's engagement ring.
We went back recently because my husband wanted to design a birthstone pendant for our first anniversary. Again, it was a completely stress-free experience. They understand exactly what you want, and seeing the piece at different stages throughout the process really lets you make sure it turns out as you envision.
They don't pressure you at all, and they are very knowledgeable and professional. We'll definitely use them again someday.

For our 5th anniversary my husband took my existing vintage art-deco filigree engagement ring to Greenlake Jewelry Works to have a setting and additional diamonds added to it. The criteria was complex given that I didn't want anything too big, too showy or too cumbersome. In addition to keeping the integrity of the original vintage design. What they created is quite possibly the most amazing 5 stone setting that fits my hand, my style and my lifestyle perfectly. Not a day goes by that I don't get a compliment on it. I've since sent 3 newly engaged friends there that have been delighted with the results.
With my 10th anniversary coming up I'm hoping for a repeat performance from my husband and Green Lake Jewelry Works. I don't think I'll be disappointed with either. ;-)

After my boyfriend and I decided to get married, we went out looking for an engagement ring together. We went to all the regular engagement ring stores in town, and I tried on some fine rings. But it didn't felt right and certainly didn't feel special. It was clear the people behind the counter were selling on commission - they didn't really care that we were newly engaged or if the ring was just perfect. They just wanted to make the sale. And the rings were nothing that special, either.
After a few hours of disappointed shopping, we headed over to Green Lake Jewelry Works to see if we could find something a little more unusual. We were not disappointed. Not only was their ring design beautiful and artistic and unique, but their staff was friendly, funny, casual and informed. The first big difference - when we walked through the door and informed the person at the front desk we were looking for an engagement ring, her response was "Congratulations!" - the first time we heard that all day. She offered us something to drink, sat us down at our own counter and introduced us to "our" ring designer, Amber. Amber worked with us for two hours - looking through catalogs of designs, sketching out our ideas, bringing out sample rings and metals and stones. By the end of our session we had a design we couldn't have been more pleased with.
Here is the process: you work with an artist to sketch out your design. They make a wax model of the ring for you to try on (this takes a couple of weeks). Once the design is right, their in-house artists make the ring. At any point in the process, up to 30 days after the ring is complete, you can change any aspect of the design. They want it to be just right.
The process takes a while (ours took about 8 weeks from design to completion) but it is most certainly worth the wait. We simply love what we ended up with.

I had my now wife's engagement ring custom designed and hand crafted at Green Lake Jewelry Works at the north end of Green Lake. The jewelry designer I worked with patiently walked me through all of the steps and the bevy of options, taking about six hours to choose a beautiful sapphire and design a setting from just about scratch. Their staff continued to work with me throughout the construction of the ring, sending frequent e-mails with pictures to ensure the details were being properly handled. The engagement ring purchase can be an absolute nightmare from what I understand, but everything at Green Lake went completely smoothly from initial sit-down to delivering the ring. Even their boxes are stunning! I highly recommend Green Lake for any jewelry that needs to be extra special and not some cliched or impersonal chunk from one of the mall stores. Mindy Koblenzer was the person I worked with most and she is the absolute best. One of the most telling aspects of how honest and great these folks are is that we went OUTSIDE with the stones I was considering to see how they look in natural light as opposed to jewelry store light which makes everything look better. You will pay more here than you will other places, but you will end up with a completely unique, one-of-a-kind, not mass produced piece that comes from your own heart, not from a factory.

A good place to go--very knowledgeable--they do custom jewelry. I worked with them to design my engagement ring and they did a beautiful job. They also resized (made smaller) my wedding band to match and you can't tell it wasn't made this size--no seams/inconsistencies at all.
Only issue for my engagement ring design was that it took a few more iterations than I expected, but sure that wouldn't be an issue for a repair.
