More
SHED is a design/build collective founded by four UW architecture grads with a passion for spare, thoughtful building design coupled with exacting craftsmanship in construction and detailing. With several award-winning public commissions (including the Pike Place Market museum) and a growing list of private residences to their credit, the group is quietly building a reputation for excellent work. In addition, the partners have individually and collectively shown their conceptual design work at a range of local galleries and exhibit spaces, and have been as well received for their theoretical contributions as for their built structures. If want a design partner who will challenge you to create great design and great space, SHED is a great place to start.

We recently had a great experience with Tyler Acosta, the owner and founder of FineLine Painting & Restoration. He is professional, dependable, knowledgable and good at his work. We had all of our crown molding, picture rails, base boards etc sprayed and touch ups on our rolled walls and our place looks great!

A little over six months ago, my husband and I hired Student Painters.net to paint the exterior of our 1928 home in Seattle. When the crew leader came out to do the estimate, he told us about a house just around the block that they had also painted. In doing the estimate, we were given lots of options on where we could cut costs or make upgrades. It was nice to see they had some flexibility. After we got the estimate, we walked up to the other house to check out the paint job. Seeing what we liked, we knocked on the door and spoke with the owner. She told us about her experience and because everything she said was good and because they were reasonably priced, we hired them.
The crew leader paid us another visit to leave us with paint chips to decide on the colors. In the end, he was the one who choose the right white to achieve our desired look for the trim. The crew leader continued to be very accommodating, acquiring quarts of paint to do test patches on the house before we committed to a color. When we didn't find exactly what we wanted, he custom-blended the color that we eventually went with.
The crew was very professional. Everyday, one or two guys would show up. They worked around the various obstacles in our garden. They even put up with our dogs. We let them leave their equipment by the side of the house and in the driveway overnight. The job was done in about a week, with most of the time spent on prep work--taping and scraping. I don't think we could have asked for better results for $3500. Everyone we know agrees it was a vast improvement over the previous bad paint job and color.

I needed to have some branches removed from some large cedar trees that were blocking alley access to the garbage trucks. I also wanted to have some branches cut back that were lying on my roof. I called around various arborists and found it hard to find someone who was available to come out and give me an estimate within a few days AND promised the work would be done by someone certified. Lambert Tree services came out the same day to take care of the estimate, finished the work the next day and did a great job. They really took care to make sure the trees still look natural and balanced and all the debris was cleaned up and removed. The price was quite reasonable as well.

Organize with Amy came to my office and made simple suggestions that have literally saved my life. Believe it or not, one of the problems I had getting and staying organized was that I was trying to use too many organizational systems at once. Organize with Amy worked to understand my work style and what my typical day looks like, and from there, helped me establish the most efficient systems possible. Because my office is small, we were able to get everything done in one session. I can already think of a number of projects at home for which Organize with Amy could help me, and I definitely plan to use them again. You won't be sorry!

I worked with Linda Withington in 2001 to design our yard and garden. It was a great process and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Linda and her staff. We ended up with a unique, artful, year-round garden that I absolutely love and many wonderful outdoor spaces to enjoy. Check out their new website at www.beerswithington.com.

More
My wife is a professional landscape architect, so when we say that we are happy with the work that 'Gardens by Michael Angelo' performed for us, it comes with a little experience behind it. They performed a somewhat complicated project, worked the fence up a steep slope, added requested stabilizers, and in the end, provided a very professional look and feel/experience for us.
