Very nice clothing. Not really the kind of prices that make me want to shop there everyday though. The staff is always friendly and curteous, and I have never had any problems returning anything. Sometimes there can be a bit of a crowd in this store, so I try to avoid shopping on the weekends. Although the prices are not so great, the quality is far higher than you would find at certain other clothing stores.

http://shoefly.com/ For months I've been longing to get inside this store. No, it's not that there is some bizarre exclusivity to it but rather that it sits next to where I get my hair cut by Katie Buter of Illustrated Hair in the Greenlake area. Usually I get my hair cut in the morning so I can have the benefit of gorgeous hair all day but Katie couldn't get me in till an afternoon appointment this week and OH am I happy!
Usually Shoefly is closed in the earlier morning hours so I just drool over what I see in the window. Last night I went in and spent 40 minutes perusing the lovely shoes on display. A nice assortment of interesting and funky shoes of all types: flats, casual, sporty, boots, dressy, dressy-casual, you name it!
What I loved the most is that they have styles that are much like the ones I see in Europe. Hip and edgy could be used to describe the majority of styles but there are some more conservative choices there as well. I was able to pick up a gorgeous pair of open toed red heels that were perfect to wear with my "Marilyn" dress and I also picked up a pair of wedges that are perfect for both work and casual wear.
Locations are in Seattle, Bellevue, and now Portland too. There is also a website and I've put the link in above.
Right now there is a sale going on where you get 1 pair at regular price and the second pair is HALF OFF! Go - Now - Shoefly!

This store offers tasteful clothing for those between the ages of 16-30 years old. They carry some of the name brands seen at other stores, only on a more elite level of quality and style. I didn't know that Roxy, Element, Billabong, Volcom, etc. had styles suited for those who are out of their "teenage" years, but still wanting some trendiness to their wardrobe. I loved the store in the U-Village and I would imagine this store on Alki is just as promising.
Pros: Great Prices for Great Styles
Cons: None

I have been a big fan of Atsui since they have opened about a year ago. The selection has really grown and I am very impressed with the new labels they have brought into the store, in particular the denim. I just picked up a pair of SugarCane this weekend. I always follow their blog to see the new items. They also have an online shop, but the blog is more interesting to me. Definitely check it out if you're in the area and if you are into Japanese denim!
Pros: Selection and Quality
Cons: Parking

Kraken must have had his tights in a bunch over a light wallet and high-maintenance woman, because from an out-of-town perspective, this place is stellar. Paid Metro a visit over this past weekend to assist a friend with correct footwear before deciding over Noc Noc and another club we eventually went to, and in doing so, found the service and selection of this establishment to be outstanding.
- Great Selection by Los Angeles clothing standards.
- Great Pricing, comparable to what you'd find on Ebay sales.
- Friendly Staff: Thanks for the Italian food recommendation, but Indian worked out better next door.
Go to Metro for all of the above reasons, and enjoy the experience.
Pros: Price, Selection and Service.
Cons: Parking, as in all of Seattle.

there are a handful of shops i go to when i want to buy a birthday or christmas present but i don't want to think too hard. urban outfitters is near the top of my list. they have a huge selection of funny t-shirts (that i'd probably never buy for myself) and random cool or funny knick knacks that make great generic-yet-somewhat-thoughtful gifts. their books and housewares make especially good and well-received gifts.
urban outfitters' clothes are a different story. the best phrase i can use to describe them is "pretty good." there's always something that makes me not buy their clothes: weird fit, little too expensive, strange color, etc. their sale section is one of the worst i've seen; it's pretty large, but most of the clothes are abysmal. this is not to say you can't score a great find at urban outfitters, but you're more likely to score many many pretty good finds.
the accessories (shoes, socks, hats, scarves, etc) are probably the best part of UO's clothing.

I love this boutique! Mark always carries the newest styles. Actually, it seems like he knows the next trend way before it's even here. Their dress selection is great, and they also carry a great line of jeans. If you have not visited this boutique yet, you must!
Pros: Great selection, great customer service

I love, love, love American Apparel. Not only do they have an admirable philosophy about the conditions and wages of their workers, but the founder is close to manic about making the best t-shirts possible. I've read articles. He is for real about making high quality, stylish, and well-fitted items of clothing. My favorite AA shirt is a baseball tee in green and turquoise. The colors have stayed true through several washings. It's shrunk a bit but has stayed nice and soft. A+!
