i finally got a chance to poke my head into the last white elephant and it's a good find. it's small and pretty jam packed, but they have good stuff and holy moly is it cheap. unless otherwise noted sweaters are $3.50, shirts are $3. i got 2 shirts and a sweater and my total came to...$8.70 with tax. the only shirt i saw for more than $3 was a burbury (sp?) blouse for $5. and this business, like many thrift shops, is in it for the greater good - their profits go to help animals. i could do without all the preachy vegan and 'animals are human' sorts of signs but i'd still be happy to support this business any day.

The Last White Elephant is a fairly standard small thrift store, with the usual array of clothing, accessories, books, music, and some furniture. The best thing about it is that the profits go to help Northwest Animal Rights Network causes, so while I can't recommend it wholeheartedly on the basis of its merchandise, I do think it's a good store working for a good cause.

The Last White Elephant was founded by a local animal activist and is now run by 2 local vegans. Profits from the stores sales go to support animal groups such as AFA. A great second hand store that supports a great cause. Also, it's affordable and they have new stuff coming in all the time.

Last White Elephant is an awesome find! Their motto is 'compassion in fashion' and It's a thrift store that donates proceeds to animal rights. Over the past few years, Last White Elephant has become more and more organized. While it's certainly lost some of the 'bare bones' grass roots feel, it is still a nice alternative to Goodwill or Value Village. The prices are more than reasonable, and if you are in the market for a new vegan/vegetarian bumper sticker or tee shirt, this is the place! (If you are driving, watch out for the parking restrictions on 65th)
