In Seattle, we have more coffee shops than we can handle. So, how do they manage to stay in business? Whatever the answer is, Victrola has it. It seems to be one of the better known and more popular espresso joints. It has always been a hopping place for the student or twenty-something singleton looking to meet like minded people. The coffee drinks are well done, they have a nice selection of rotating art, and it is perfectly located in people watching central. However, the recent decision to cancel wi fi on the weekends seems to have hurt business. I used to have to fight to get a table on the weekends, now I have my choice of many prime seats. So, if I don't need to go online, I can always swing by Victrola.

It is a pretty bold claim to make that someplace has the best coffee in Seattle, but this place will live up to those words. I live across town and will drive out of my way to get a cup of joe here. I prefer to drink drip coffee, but most places in Seattle specialize in espresso drinks...needless to say the quality of their drip suffers. This place makes great drip and espresso drinks and offers a good variety of pastries and sandwiches, to round out a good breakfast or light lunch. There is also some nice art, from local artists, which rotates weekly.
