Stevens Pass offers great runs and a good variety of terrain for every level of skier or boarder. I've not been to all of the local resorts, but in comparison to Snoqualmie...Stevens is by far the better option for good snow and terrain.
My last trip to Stevens was New Year's Day 2006 and the lines were short, the snow was falling and the runs were entertaining.
One suggestion, avoid the backside of the mountain...the snow was not as good and the terrain mostly uninteresting. It could be the time of year, but I'd spend most of my time on the front of the hill.
The snowboard terrain park was not all that incredible, but it was early and the pipe was not open either.
Overall, I would rate Stevens Pass a 7.5 out of 10. It's good, especially considering the distance from Seattle.
Oh, you can use the Sultan Shuttle and avoid driving up the pass...it's a great option and worked great for me!! Cheap too.
