Walking on the Ave. in search of a healthy meal can sometimes be daunting. You have with your most common choices ranging from pizza to Thai. The Pita Pit, however, is a great health food alternative-- if you customize your pita correctly that is. Many people think that by opting for a pita over a slice of pizza, they're saving in the calories, fats, etc. However, I have seen some patrons gobbling overstuffed, over-sauced pitas that's nutrional facts would probably shock them. Grab a nutritional guide available at the restaurant or check online to make sure you're getting enough good vegetables and less on the sauce to create a truly healthy meal. That aside, this in-and-out restaurant is a great find and the food service is surprisingly fast. The joint could benefit from a few more tables and chairs, as space is very limited.

Pita Pit knows almost all of us at the place where I work, since someone places an order almost every day. Buying pitas directly at the Pita Pit seems like a more economical option, opposed to having them deliver, since they charge a $2 delivery fee. The extra $2 makes a lunch from there cost almost $10 (Pita only!). The food is fresh, sometimes the chicken is still warm when the food arrives. I love the healthy option of having unlimited veggies and their delivery drives are super nice!

Not there either! I know! THE SAUCES...by far the biggest selection of sauces ever. Babaganoush Hummus Tzatziki ********************** Light Mayo Mustard Caesar RedHot BBQ Sauce Dijon Mustard Secret Sauce Ranch Dressing Honey Mustard ********************* And the best part of pita pit, it's open late, so all you drunken college students can cure your hunger pangs at 3 in the morning!

The Pita Pit is one of the many "Ave" stores that caters to University of Washington college students. They offer custom Pitas...think of Subway in Pita form. You walk in, order at the counter in the rear by selecting the meat/veggie combo you want...then you move towards the front and select your condiments. Cheeses, vegetables, sauces...and whatever else they have. After your meat gets cooked, they place it in your Pita and wrap it up in paper for you to dine in, or to go. Pita Pit is open late, and is a haven to drunk college students. If that bothers you, they maybe you should stay in at night or call for delivery.
