We have frequent flier miles with Alaska. And what is so great about that you never lose your miles. Since my husband and I fly occasionally to visit family it takes us awhile to build up enough miles to turn in for a free flight. Also, they have other airlines that we can book on and still get miles for Alaska's Frequent Flier Plan. Recently my husband flew on American Airlines for business and got miles for his frequent flier plan. This was an added bonus to the business trip!
We have always had excellent service, easy ticket purchasing, choices of seating, reliable & on-time flights ( in fact we have arrived early on several of our flights), easy check-in, nice flight attendants on all of our flights with Alaska Airlines.
I just wish they flew to Denver where my brother lives. That may come in the future since they did set up a flight to Denver from Seattle, so now I need to wait for Southern California to Denver. But we have no problem getting to northern Oregon where my daughter lives and most of our flights are to that destination.
The price of the tickets are comparable to the Southwest Airlines ticket prices and I don't have to stop in San Jose or Oakland - I can go non-stop. So for a few dollars more I fly Alaska Airlines to get the non-stop flight. It is seldom that you can get a Southwest Airline Ticket that doesn't involve some kind of stop or stops and you end up adding hours to your traveling time. I don't want to spend all day in a plane and airport - I want to get to my destination so I can enjoy the people I came to visit. My husband just went on a business trip to Albuquerque, N.M. and had to fly through Phoenix to get there. It tried real hard to get an American flight but since it was last minute there were not very many flights available for the next day. Then he could have received more flight miles for Alaska. http://www.alaskaairlines.com

All My Sons quoted me a price for a Sunday move, confirmed the time, NEVER called, NEVER showed up, and the Training Manager "Shane" offered no explanation for the poor service, only berated his trainee for having even quoted me a moving price and TOLD ME THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED BY LAW to QUOTE PRICES! Offered to move me Monday at 10% off but obviously, he could just as easily jack up the price. "VLAD" called me to "SEE WHAT WE CAN DO TO MAKE U HAPPY" and I told him the damage was done, I'd gotten a mover.

Our company has used ASI furnished housing in Seattle for 3+ years now. ASI takes care of everything, every day and right away! We are huge fans of ASI and their accommodations and have recommended their service to other companies. I hope that they can expand beyond immediate Seattle area!
Pros: small enough to pay attention to every guest, every detail
Cons: not enough locations outside Seattle and in US

I'm always happy when I eat at Andaluca. Most recently, I went there for their "dine around Seattle" promotion (you basically get 4 of their "pinxtos" [small plates] + dessert for $30). Everything that I and my three dining companions had was exquisite. Specifically, I'd highly recommend the halibut skewer, the cabrales-crusted beef skewer, and the mushrooms ala greque. I'm not much of a dessert eater but the liquid chocolate cake was also delicious. Andaluca also has a superb wine list and mixes great cocktails. The service was the perfect blend of attentive and unobtrusive and the ambiance is elegant yet relaxed. All in all, a wonderful dining experience which I would highly recommend.
Pros: atmosphere, food, service, free valet parking

Good for you, Emily! I hope you have a very romantic getaway... I realize you said "in Seattle" - to be honest I haven't stayed in any B&B in Seattle, sorry, but I do know that AnnaLea's B&B http://www.lodgingsinternational.com/lodgings/040.htm (note: their own website doesn't seem to be working too well http://www.annaleas.com/annaleas_f.html ) in Victoria is too great not to mention. Went there some years ago, and Anna and Lea are just great, charming hosts with lots of attention to detail... The house is immaculate, and Lea even makes all their stained glasses - he makes a different heart one for Anna every Valentine's (awww). Their breakfast is great, too, and the rates completely reasonable.
It's a very small Victorian with only 3 bedrooms, so it's guaranteed to be quaint.
I don't think we can post Canadian addresses yet, so I'll post the contact info here:
Address: 856 Wollaston Street, Victoria, BC, V9A 5A8 Canada
Telephone: 250 381-1195
Toll Free: 1-877-381-1195
Fax: 250 381-1195
"Nearby Attractions: Only minutes from the Inner Harbour via a beautiful sea walk that follows the coastline, and a small ferry called the 'boom-boat', AnnaLea's is uniquely situated for visitors who wish the peace, tranquility and informality of Esquimalt combined with the quaint hustle and bustle of nearby Victoria."
Whatever you find, have fun!

We took the locks cruise during sunset. Seeing the city as well as the mountains at twilight made it worth every penny (it is fairly expensive). This was a birthday gift so I guess its easy for me to say but I wouldn't regret paying for it. The trip was so romantic and beautiful.
The tour guides were pretty informative and the crew was friendly. I think its great for both tourists and locals. You learn a little bit of trivia and if you are new to the area a lot about the different neighborhoods of Seattle. It gives you a good sense of the city. But besides all that, its just fun to go out on a boat trip once in a while and see the salmon jump! :)

I?ve done harbor cruises, locks cruises, the water taxi (from west Seattle to downtown), a Christmas cruise, parties, etc. all on Argosy, every one has been excellent. Boats are impeccably clean and comfortable. Staff are so friendly and will really knock themselves out for you. Events are reasonably priced for what you get (a boat + crew!). The boats have bars on them that are well stocked (for a boat) ? and the staff really want everyone to have a fun time, but are committed to safety above all else (don?t mess with them ? they WILL turn that boat around and take you back). I highly recommend all of their tours and services, great company.

I’ve only taken this cruise once with an out of town visitor. We both enjoyed the two hour tour around Seattle. The tour includes Bill Gates home near Medina and the famous Sleepless in Seattle boat house. The tour is best to enjoy during the warm summer months of July and August. It is a cruise that I would take again with another out of town guest.
