Worst experience of our Seattle trip. I took my parents to Seattle to celebrate their 40th Anniversary and we were going to take the Locks cruise. We arrived about half an hour before the next departure, purchased our tickets, and was told to wait in the center area and that a bus would be picking us up and take us to our departing location. They announced the bus would be arriving and to move out to the street which we did along with a couple of other couples however we never saw a bus for Argosy. Finally, one of the other couples went asked about the bus and found out we were all standing in the wrong place. They failed to tell us we had to walk further north along to pier to another loading location for the bus. By the time we found out the bus had already left, we missed the cruise, and the next one wasn’t scheduled for 3 hours later. I went back to the ticket counter and demanded a refund and asked to speak to a manager. I was sent to a building along the pier to speak to a manager. I explained to her my experience and all she said was we knew we were missing some passengers and looked for them. I know that is not true because the person at the ticket counter could see us the whole time we were waiting for the bus and never helped us. The manager made no effort to get us on that cruise or the harbor cruise that was leaving in 15 minutes. At least I did get a refund but the experience ruined my parent’s anniversary. If you’re going to use this company make sure you know exactly where to be or you will literally miss your boat.

We took the locks cruise during sunset. Seeing the city as well as the mountains at twilight made it worth every penny (it is fairly expensive). This was a birthday gift so I guess its easy for me to say but I wouldn't regret paying for it. The trip was so romantic and beautiful. The tour guides were pretty informative and the crew was friendly. I think its great for both tourists and locals. You learn a little bit of trivia and if you are new to the area a lot about the different neighborhoods of Seattle. It gives you a good sense of the city. But besides all that, its just fun to go out on a boat trip once in a while and see the salmon jump! :)

My wife and I took an Argosy dinner cruise with our company about a month ago. Generally we had a good time. The cruise provided wonderful views of Seattle, especially at night, and took us through several little island nooks that were fun to cruise by. I'd say the food was above average for a dinner cruise - a reasonable selection and pretty well prepared. The desserts were quite good. There were two things I didn't like about the cruise. First and foremost, the band had a very louge act kind of feel and was not much fun to listen to. They should have been playing jazz, not more contemporary fare that doesn't exactly suit people having dinner conversation. Second, there was way too much upselling on the cruise. There were so many rules about what was included and what was extra it got annoying. Overall we had a good time but once was enough, at least for this particular cruise.

Although we live in the Seattle area, my husband and I decided to take an Argosy Cruise around Lake Washington because we are on vacation this week and wanted to do something vacationish. We took the 2-hour lake cruise which takes you around Lake Union, through the Montlake Cut, and touches a bit of Lake Washington. We went by the Bill Gates house and the Sleepless in Seattle floating home among lots of other things. It was a good deal because we used the Entertainment Book coupon (buy one get one free). It came to $30 for the two of us. It was a fun, well-narrated cruise. Try to score free parking by parking next to the street.

I wonder why I didn't take a harbor cruise earlier. Argosy's "Harbor Tour" is one of the items in City Pass' "Seattle" ticket booklet, so grandma and I basically got in for half price. She didn't want to do a lot of walking, and while we sat we saw some of the best views of Seattle I've ever seen! At the entrance was someone with a digital camera for pictures by the boat -- bring your own camera, they wanted $10 for one and $15 for two pictures and don't give you a copy of the digital file! They have a tour guide blabbing about the area, which I actually found helpful because he knew some things I did not already know. Their boats can double as reception halls and are probably great for weddings. But what I liked most was seeing Seattle from a different vantage, to get a new visual perspective of the beautiful parts of town.

We went on this tour with the Citypass that we purchased for our Seattle trip. The pass comes with a 1 hour harbor cruise or you can upgrade for around $15-$20 dollars to the 2 hour locks cruise. For our trip, they bussed us to where the ship was docked and we boarded. They had lots of seats up on deck for you to sit on and some inside if it got too cold. The coolest thing was going through the locks. It was interesting to see how that all works. It was also cool being in the Harbor and seeing the city from the water. The ships crew were incredibly nice and full of information. They had light snacks and drinks on board for you to purchase and they also had a bathroom. I would definitely recommend this cruise to anyone.

My husband and I recently too the Royal Argosy dinner cruise. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the views, but the food was substandard. Their website and menu tout food from the same restaurants as the Metropolitan Grill and Elliots, but it was nowhere near as good. The food certainly wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the price, especially since the pre-paid dinner was actually quite limited. Half of the menu items required you to pay over and above the ticket price, which I think is a pretty sleazy thing to do. The drinks were expensive and average. We did enjoy our evening, in part because we were celebrating our anniversary and were determined to have fun, but in the future we'd choose a plain old sight-seeing cruise instead of this overpriced dinner cruise. Our waiter was extremely inattentive, to the point that my husband's soup was tepid and our bill didn't arrive until the boat had already docked.

Royal Argosy's Sunday brunch cruise a few months ago. The experience was OK but significantly below our expectations. The ship was not very well maintained for its age. The cruise departured about 10 minutes behind its schdule. The food was so so with the dessert probably being the best part. Service was also just OK. But the server kept telling us that the tip should be calculated based on the "entire cruise experience", meaning the $40+ per person fee. So don't expect much but just try to enjoy the view. Its ok
