I had my own repair shop for 10 years then I was a mobil mechanic for 15 years. I know a little about auto repair now that I am retired this is the only shop that I will take my car recommend to my old customers. They are always willing to explain the recommendations they make and don't talk a bunch of nonsense. The prices are always fair and the work is top notch.

I am new in town. Got a free oil change coupon in the mail for this company. I needed an oil change and my brakes were feeling funny so I thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone.
I called and made the appointment for the work and tried to find out the catch on the oil change but the guy on the phone Dave I think swore there was no catch. I am thinking once I get there they will charge me $20 for getting rid of my old oil or say sorry doesn't apply to your car. But I figured it would still be cheaper than Jiffy Lube and they have always been hit or miss.
So I go in and they fill out my work request and I am all prepared to argue that they said the oil change would be free but they don't hit me up for anything no extra charge for my car, no charge for the filter no charge for nothing!
Wow thats a suprise! So I ask them to check my brakes cause my car has over 50,000 miles and the brakes don't seem to work as good as used to. So they ask a bunch of questions about my brakes and I waited for them to check my car again, no charge to check my brakes.
So the guy comes and gets me and shows me that my brakes are still good, the rear brakes are just a little out of adjustment. They charged me $50 and now its as good as new.
Maybe a customer shouldn't be suprised when a place gives you something for free and it's really free but I am. Or when you ask for something to be checked and its really ok. Maybe I should not be suprised that the people at the shop are friendly and professional and clean. Or that the shop and waiting area is clean and orderly and well lit, But I was. This place is a gem and I highly recommend Affordable Tire and Brake!

I had my brakes replaced here about 6 months ago. At the time the dealer quoted me $600. This place did the brakes for $150. They were by far the lowest price I had found. When they did the brakes they seemed professional and friendly and really seemed to know what they were doing.
About a month ago my brakes started making this loud screeching noise when ever I stepped on the brakes. So I am thinking oh oh shouldn't have gone for the cheap price. So I called them up and rather than trying to put me off the guy encouraged me to come in as soon as I could. One star. When I asked if I had to bring my receipt they said no we have the information. Two stars. When I got there they were still nice and got my car in with in a few minutes. Three stars. So I'm thinking ok now they will tell me why I have to pay for the brakes again or what I have to buy this time to make them stop making noise. So Allen asks me to come out to my car and shows me my brake pads and says the pads are defective they will replace them for free. FREE? So the did. Rour stars. No more noise and they work great. Five stars.
In this day and age it is not so common to have a company that stands behind their work or product especially one that is so low priced. I am really impressed with this company and will continue to tell all of my friends and even people I don't know by posting this on Judy's book. The sign of a really good company is how they handle things when things go wrong not when things go right.

I was a Big O customer before I moved to Seattle in 2001, so when I needed 4 new tires for my truck, it was natural to call them up. I got a great deal on those 4 tires and didn't really pay attention to the warranty and guarantees. Then I drove over a piece of concrete just after Thanksgiving and put a big hole in the sidewall. I was expecting to have to buy a new tire or at least pay for the repair. They gave me a free tire - there is a road hazard warranty. Great!
The store is always busy, so don't expect quick service, but everyone is courteous and patient. They recently had someone crash through their front window so it looks a little strange with plywood covering half the front of the store. Parking is difficult in their lot due to the volume they do, but they can count on me as a customer in the future.

I agree with the first review. They do a great job and they seem very honest and trustworthy. I once gave them a car that I was about to sell to my mom and told them to fix everything that needs to be fixed. The total charge including oil change was $25.00 on a 14 year old car. I've never had any problems with the neighborhood, but I always take my dog.

I love these guys. I've had a couple of bad experiences with mechanics but these guys tell it like it is every time. If something doesn't need to be fixed they'll tell you so. I also go in there for my oil changes. They have reasonable prices and speedy service. They even fit me in on Saturday once last minute, even though I know they were already overbooked that day. I strongly recommend them for auto service and tires- they will always make it right.

I have been doing business with Discount Tire at Northgate for a number of years. It all began when I stopped in with a flat tire. They were friendly and fixed the tire without cost to me. At that point, I wasn't a paying customer. They day came when I needed new tires and I remembered the great experience of their helping me without it costing me a time. I thought, "I owe them one", so I bought 4 tires and it was the beginning of a happy marriage. I've not had one bad experience with them for at least 8 years.

Although Budd & Company is my tried and true mechanic - I use Firestone for tires, oil changes, and alignments. (Their lifetime alignment is a great deal! It pays for itself after the second alignment).
I love the staff here. They're always upbeat, helpful, and funny. They make suggestions but are never pushy about repairs.
Firestone offers lots of coupon deals. Check your junk mail and your Safeway receipts. You can almost always get an oil change for less than $20.
I always make an appointment and plan to leave my truck there for the day. Wait times can be a bummer, and there's not a lot to see or do close by.
