Good: Dr. Moore had a good bedside manner, was a good listener, and seemed to give responsive answers. He offered me sample medication which was appreciated.. Bad: Poor communication and lack of professionalism in the office, in general. Receptionist seems unfriendly and not particularly helpful when checking in and while waiting. On both visits seemed me a bit disorganized, unfamiliar with standard medical office protocol, and not much of a "people person". Actually, she was rather unpleasant. Dr. Moore's nurse was not all that great either. When she finally called me up 40 minutes after my appointment time, she did not introduce herself with name or title.. Improvements: Better support staff communication. Work on being more polite and helpful, esp. with new patients. The standard protocol I have experienced at other doctor offices seemed to be lacking here. Running extremely late. No one asked for my previous medical records. I offered them my full records for copying which seem to create confusion as the nurse seemed unsure how to proceed. As a result, I suggested having my records sent over. This created problems as their release form was incomplete.. Other: -Please get a records request form that has a place for patients to list the contact info. for previous doctors who are to send info.
-The medicine samples I was offered were forgotten about by staff. This set off an episode of trying to procure them via front desk via the semi-helpful secretary.
-On a previous visit, I was late (stuck in traffic and called from cell)and the MD cancelled. This appt. I waited 40 minutes to see M.D. As a result, I missed an appt. scheduled after the one with Dr. Moore..

Dr Moore performed two surgeries on me - a partial and then a total thyroidectomy. His bedside manner was outstanding - he is very warm and caring. He did a great job on both my surgeries. He came highly recommended by a local thyroid group, several who had personal experience with him performing one or more surgeries on them. It's a shame people on this forum are so quick to blame him for their neck issues post surgery. I had very detailed information as to what I could do as far as neck movement post-surgery. Regardless, he is highly recommended.

WOW...after reading the reviews from people who had partial thyroidectomy surgery from Doctor Moore and suffered hernia discs after the procedure I decided to add my name to the list. In 2000 I too suffered intense neck pain and discovered that I suffered from a herniated disk in my neck. I can only guess that my neck was hyperextended during surgery. It took me almost a year to feel normal again. In that year it was painful to turn my head and my shoulder locked up as a result. I spent many months is physical rehab to regain my range of motion in both my neck and my shoulder. I thought that I was alone with this problem and that I suffered the "luck of the draw" but it seems that there is a pattern with this Doctor not taking due care with peoples necks during surgery. I can only speculate...but this is concerning.

Dr. Moore did a partial thyroidectomy. After surgery, suffered from intense neck pain and nauseau. After 3 weeks, ER did MRI which showed a severely herniated cervical disc requiring emergency surgery to repair. This condition did *not* exist prior to the thyroidectomy.
