Thai restaurants are to Seattle what pizza joints are to Manhattan. They all claim to be the best at what they do, and most of them aren't bad. But Jamjuree rises above the throngs of other thai restaurants with a diverse and comprehensive menu. The diningroom is always clean and relaxed and the servers are attentive and congenial. Besides that, the food is just really good.

Best Thai food on Cap. Hill... The food is perfectly flavored (if you want it spicier just ask), the service is friendly and you normally don't have to wait too long for your food. The atmosphere is also chill and nicely decorated with beautiful wood decor. There is a big back table for large parties, or if you come on a date you can find a romantic seat as well.

Sorry for the alliteration, but this little storefront on Capitol Hill's 15th Ave East is my vote for the best straight-up Thai in Seattle. Definitely not flashy, but a pleasant interior space, nice folks, and the best-executed Thai standards around. I'm especially fond of the red curry, but the signature dish is the pahd thai - not the gloppy, ketchupy mess you get at most places in town, but a delicately flavored, well-balanced dish with an elegant presentation (instead of scambling in the egg, it's finished like an omelet, with a delicately browned egg 'wrapper'). Don't expect breakout innovation (see my review of Mandalay Cafe on that subject), just well-executed Thai standards. Go!

If you want some mild, Thai-tasting food, this may be your place. But if you know what Thai food is supposed to taste like and you like it spicy, look elsewhere. After three tries, I'm not going back. Mediocre and lukewarm stirfries, tom kha gai with no galangal, and barely a hint of spice in the dishes I ordered with 4+ stars. I'm tired of trying. But, good iced tea and romantic.
Pros: Romantic, Ambience, Iced tea
Cons: , Not spicy, Food not warm

One of the better Thai restaurants in Seattle, good spicy food and some interesting menu items. Very good value. Not particularly authentic, but better than most.

Jamjuree has the best Thai food I've ever had. Never cared for green beans much, but they've converted me with their green bean dish. I rarely dare to order Pad Thai elsewhere as I haven't found anything nearly as good, the Jamjuree fried rice is excellent. Go with friends and share or call and take something home with you... don't forget to try spicy noodle. Even folks not into Thai food like the chicken noodle.
Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious, Friendly
Cons: No Saturday lunch

The spicy noodle is also great, and the spicy green bean is the best! Great lunch specials let you get a sampling of a couple entrees with soup and salad, for next nothin. (also try the lime soda and the water melon drink.... it is amazing).
Pros: Inexpesive, low key, great food
