I am an avid player and while I can't recommend any one individual tennis instructor -- I can tell you that you will find good instructors at the Seattle tennis center on MLK drive. The fact that you are left handed shouldn't matter for a good instructor. Good luck. Enjoy tennis -- it's really fun.

This is the hubcap in the wheel of Seattle tennis. The great thing about the Amy Yee Tennis Center is the junior walk-ins: if you are under 18, you can get to play on the indoor courts for free as long as one is open. They have a lot of lessons, ranging from pure beginner to fairly advanced, and they host many tournaments throughout the year. They are very focused on serving the community, and the staff are very very friendly and try hard to get tennis across to the entire state.

The indoor courts are amazing. They have heaters just behid the baseline for the cold winters. The staff is very nice as I got to play for free sometimes. I was apart of the tennis team so that probably explains it. The courts were just redone about a year ago, and play very fast. The lights are nice and bright, and the ceilings are decently high. The rates are a bit pricey but worth it if it's raining outside.

The City of Seattle offers tennis lessons for kids and adults (private and group lessons) as well as court rentals. The facility is convenient and has free parking. They have 10 indoor and 4 outdoor courts. The lessons are great - I took a beginner adult lesson with 4 other people and learned a ton. Their instructors are wonderful and the facility is very nice. Rates are very reasonable ($45/hr for private or $65 for a 6-week group course). There is a lottery to get into the lessons, but I had no problem getting the lesson I wanted.
