This is the place to go when you need alterations done for your clothes. I had a dress fitted to me and the owner did an excellent job. I thought her prices were reasonable, though I don't have anything to compare them to. The dress had cost me $180 so paying $65 for a perfect fit seemed like nothing. She really knows clothing and the way clothing fits a person's shape. Dressmaking is a lost art but Seattle is lucky to have her.
Make sure to give her plenty of time, though. She is just one person and her shop isn't open every day.

I would highly recommend that you take your clothes elsewhere to be altered. I needed a bridesmaid dress altered, and she not only charged me three times what the other bridesmaids ended up paying, but the dress still did not fit! When I took it back in a few days later she said she would fix it but would have to charge me more. Very rude, expensive, and poor work done here.

My husband recently searched high and low for a tailor to alter a jacket he bought. It was at least a size too big, and had to basically be rebuilt to fit properly.
The work from Clothes Encounters was perfect -- you would never know the jacket wasn't picked up off the rack that way. She was also very friendly and professional, and unlike many tailors does maintain a storefront on Greenwood Ave.
The price was probably on the high end of what my husband found, but quality tailoring is worth it. I had a pretty bad experience with having my wedding dress altered, and would have gladly paid more to avoid the hassles!
