The West Seattle Junction, oddly, has quite a few choices of sushi joints now, but my favorite is Azuma. It has a nice, low key atmosphere, good food and fair prices. It is your 'everyday' type sushi place, good for a Thursday night you don't feel like cooking. A great value is the bento boxes, where for $8 smackeroos you can get teriyaki, rice, salad, miso, california rolls and green tea. Be on the lookout for the sushi clock and the life-sized geisha mannequin in the corner hawking beer.

When I can't think of what I want to eat, usually this is where I end up. Excellent vegan sushi options, a fantastic house salad (I must figure that dressing out!). I typically will call them up on a week day around noon, feeling hungry and a little lazy, order my same old same old (asparagus roll and avocado roll, house salad), and drive up there five or ten minutes later and it's ready. I can hardly wait to get home and eat it. They also do a very nice vegetable Tempura, the house soup is excellent, a little smoky and salty, and all of it is pretty reasonably priced. Even on a Friday night at rush hour and the line well out the door, I didn't wait more than ten minutes to be seated. The waitstaff are masters of efficiency..when it just about enters your mind that you've been waiting a second past too long for your food, there it is, beautifully presented and mouth watering. I have eaten there maybe fifty times over five years, and never once, NEVER found hair in my food. I feel sorry for those folks who did. Fluke.
Pros: Inexpensive, Fast! Fresh, Delicious, Diverse.

Bento Sushi may not look trendy like so many of Seattle's newer sushi bars, but this place is great! They have a wide variety of menu options, extending beyond their sushi fare. My father even loved their food, and he's the kind of person who's afraid to try new things. If you like spicy, their Ichi Roll is a must!

What can I say?!?! This place is the best! I've been to kaiten places throughout the world and believe me, this place is the REAL DEAL! The sushi is top quality, the atmosphere reminds of Tokyo and my kids and WALLET love it. We go twice a month and the staff knows us by name. I've never had a bad experience. Sometimes we have to wait to get in but it always seems to be well worth it. I wish I had thought of this idea! PS - try the Cream Puffs! They are better than anything you'll find in Seattle. Trust me. If you are in Univeristy Village ask Mr. Taka to make you something.

First I should say: I don't eat fish.
But I really like sushi, and am always on the hunt for a good vegetarian roll. I really enjoy eating at Blue C because they have many vegi options:
1. Tofu roll: has all of the regular stuff you may expect from a vegi roll... tofu, avacado, cucumber, sprouts, etc. I think it compares well to the fancier vegi-rolls of the more expensive sushi joints.
2. Tempura Vegi roll: I haven't found this any place else, and it is super good... fresh hot greenbeans lightly fried in a tempura batter and then rolled. The contrasting textures are really pleaseing.
3. Avacado and Cucumber rolls: old standbys that are cheap... I think that an avacado roll (6 pieces) is around $1.50.
4. Lots of non-sushi items... sesamie noodles, cucumber salad, potatoes katsu, spinich gomai (I'm not sure how to spell that... it is a ball of steamed spinich in a sesami soy sauce), soft tofu in a chili sauce, etc
Like another reviewer, I was curious about the "how long does it go around the belt?" factor, and asked one of the waitresses. I learned that there are bar codes on the back of each dish on the belt, and that each dish is scanned each time it passes around the belt and plates not taken in a certain amount of time (I don't remember how much time exactly, but it was a surpriseingly short time) the dish is removed.
I have found the service to be consistantly pleasant, with a couple servers who stand out as exceptional.

My wife and I absolutely love this place. We have made Blue C our regular spot for a quick sushi fix. We both look forward to seeing Alison's warm smile during our weekly stop to the village- it is clear the restaurant has improved drastically since she has been the hostess! The staff is always friendly and helpful.
Pros: Spinach gome, fresh Uni. Very clean, great staff.
Cons: Usually a long wait

I love going to Blue C when I have a craving for sushi. The customer service is at your request so you never have to worry about being interrupted and can spend time actually enjoying your meal. Items are also constantly revolving around the room, making it easy to accumulate a stack plates before you know it. The University Village location is always packed on the weekends though, so give try it in the late afternoon to avoid a long wait.
Pros: Very inexpensive
Cons: Busy

I have been looking for a good basic chinese take out place since I moved here over 4 years ago. Finally I have found it. This is a great place for take out. They do the little things right, takeout is in bowls not White Boxes so your food is not jammed together and drenched in sauce. Also the sauce comes in a separate container so you can put as little, or as much, as you want on. Finally the vegetables are still crisp and are fresh.
This is a great restaurant and should be given a try.
Pros: Food, service, staff
Cons: No Brown Rice

I just moved to Washington and was looking for some sushi on Queen Anne. I am so glad that I went here. Their rolls are fresh and inventive. I recently came in with my girlfriend ans she ordered sushi and I had Thai food, yellow curry. Not many places offer those choices. I have tried a few of their dinner dishes and have never been disappointed. One of our favorite appetizers are the summer salad rolls served with peanut sauce. This place is consistently very good. Thanks!
Pros: Fresh sushi, eclectic menu options...something 4 everyone
Cons: parking, small place

One of our favorite sushi restaurants in town. Jae has fresh, delicious fish and his preparations are excellent and creative.
We would recommend sitting at the Sushi bar and allowing Jae to whip up a menu for you based on what is fresh and his favorites -- you won't be disappointed.
If you don't choose the omakasa option, order the negihama hand roll, TNT roll or sashimi with a ponzu sauce.
Chinoise is also family friendly and toddlers are frequent visitors to the sushi bar. Be sure to check out the happy hour M-F, 5 - 6:30 for some very good deals.
Pros: Great Sushi Bar, Happy Hour
Cons: Parking
