My husband and I went here for our anniversary last night (Saturday August 30th at 6:30pm). We had Michael for our waiter and he was outstanding. The entire staff was very nice and friendly as well. The food was wonderfu too and the steaks were done to perfection. It was our anniversary and they had the happy anniversary confetti along with 2 glasses of complimentary champagne to celebrate. We had a really nice time and will definitely go back.

Ruth Chris may be a restaurant chain from the South, but with its incredible food, atmosphere, and service you would never know it. Seattle's Ruth Chris is a carnivore haven. Incredible cuts of quality beef, particularly the beef filets. Don't overlook the signature RC dishes, garlic mashed potatoes and cream spinach. yum. Service is top notch, and always willing to be a part of unconventional conversation.
Pros: staff, beef filet, atmosphere
Cons: none if you understand quality comes with a price

We assumed by the well decorated dining room, booked out seating, and high prices that we were in for a treat. Were we ever wrong. I ordered the portabello mushroom dish. It was blah and unseasoned. It was accompanied with equally blah and over sized portions of asparagus, mashed potatoes, broccoli, button mushrooms, and tomatoes. Three vegies would have been adequate for the dish. My husbands meal was the opposite...his stuffed chicken was really a piece of chicken, and he had to search for some kind of stuffing. He ate off my weeks worth of vegetable serving plate, since the sides were additional$$$. Oh! I almost forgot about the "Ruth" salad. Yes it was cole slaw with french fried onion rings on top. When I go out and spend a $100 on dinner I expect that it taste better then my own mediocre cooking.
Pros: Beautiful restaurant, great staff
Cons: Crappy food

My husband had heard good things about this chain and wanted to try it for our anniversary. I had planned all the other details of our big day but dinner. So his suggestion sounded good and the restaurant was able to get us in within 30 minutes. They tossed some glittery "Happy Anniversary" confetti on our table and seated us right away. They gave us each a glass of champagne on the house for the occasion. We were off to a fine start. Opening the menu we were a little perplexed. A rib-eye was almost $40; and all it came with was a plate, knife and fork. A baked potato was another $7+ and green beans almondine another $7+. We ordered crab stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. All four of them were tasty (almost $13), real crab; but the mushrooms weren't even "stuffer" size, just plain white caps like you'd use every day at home. The glass of pinot grigio I ordered was huge...but that made the actual amount of pinot grigio look paltry (about 3/4 cup worth) and I don't even know what it cost. Appetizers arrived very quickly. Then we sat, and sat and sat. A table of 3 that arrived after us was served before we were and a table of 6 that arrived after the table of 3 was served and paying their check before our food arrived. My husband's rib eye was okay, nothing special. My stuffed chicken breast ($23+) was well seasoned and tasty on top, bland and dry on the bottom. To add insult to injury, there was a hair on my plate that was not my own. The service was pretty good, until our food was obviously taking too long. At that point our server made himself scarce! Luckily the water server and crumb wiper were very attentive. Un-luckily, we were interrupted so often it made conversation difficult. Needless to say, we did not stay for dessert! We just walked out shaking our heads wondering what all the "rave reviews" had been about.
Pros: We made our reservation only 30 minutes in advance.
Cons: Just didn't live up to the hype.

I brought some freinds from out of town into Ruths last Saturday and am sorry for it. One of our steaks had to be sent back for under cooking and the Filet Mignon I ordered was undercooked as well. 2 of the side dishes were almost cold. I don't mind paying good money for a great restaurant experience. Ruths though, probably wont be seeing me or our groups in there again. I hear about a resaurant called Jacks in west Seattle I am going look up next or possibly El Goucho.

I've been to a few Ruth's Chris Steakhouses accross the country and I have yet to really enjoy any visit.
On a positive note the Fillet mignon was fork tender although quite flavorless, mercifully it comes floating in a plate of garlic butter. The Ribeye however, is completely forgettable. If you want a steak, you have a myriad of superior options. I'd rate Ruth's Chris's food a notch above Sizzler. The service was consistently good, however never great.
Pros: Better than Sizzler
Cons: Value

My husband and I had dinner here before seeing a play at the Paramount. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wines. Her service was grand up until we got our food. However, as soon as we got out food we didnt see her for 20 mins. This would not normally be a problem except we ran out of wine and water. By the time we were sharing a glass of water she finally showed up and appeared to be admonishing the busboy, so maybe it was his fault. Not a big deal, but I am pretty low maintenance and really all I ask for is take my order, make sure it's right and keep my glass full. For the $ of this place, seems they would have this piece down.
Food. We started with crabcakes. These were probably the worse crabcakes I have ever had. They were pretty tasteless. Not real heavy, but just lacking taste. We each had petite filets and shared the sauteed mushrooms and garlic mashed. The mashed and 'shrooms were incredible! I would go back again just for them. The steak was cooked perfectly, but for $35 it just didnt knock my socks off. I would definitely recommend this place and will go back, but will try a different entree.
Ambience was business casual with alot of friendly group dinners, etc.
This was a nice experience and the food was very good. I am just not sure it's worth $$$$.
Pros: Excellent side dishes
Cons: Try something besides the Filet

This steak house is priced and positioned as a classy joint for tender steaks. The steaks are of great quality, but the negative aspects outweigh the positives in a restaurant that fails to live up to its presentation. The environment has a small splash of class, and the lights are dim. The majority of the visitors are in groups, so expect large friendly gatherings (making lots of noise) and not much romance. If you make a reservation for celebration of a birthday or anniversary, then you will get a scoop of relative confetti on your table.
Ruth?s C.S.H. suffers from ?franchise disease?: uncaring/inattentive staff and food quality that isn?t consistent.
My waiter didn?t give a damn about our celebration, after seeing the confetti he didn?t even smile or congratulate us, and was obviously in ?hustle and bustle? mode. He only checked up on us once, which was really pathetic because he didn?t even bring the food, water, or bread.
The surprise about the menu is that the steaks charge mid to high range prices, but do not include the traditional sides of salad, baked potato, etc. These are additional costs. The appetizers and sides I?ve ordered were nearly grocery store quality. So is the overall quality over price ratio good? No. The fillet and lamb are very tender. If you?re a fat loving butter eater, you?ll love the steak plates which are presented with boiling butter at the base of the steak. However, for the same price you could get double the entrees with superior sides, included with no extra cost, at a medium priced steak house (and you wouldn?t tell the difference with the service). This steak house simply doesn?t deliver enough quality in their food or service to justify the higher prices. If you have an obsession with steak, and only steak, then go ahead and give this place a try, but if you are looking for a classy join -- then look elsewhere. By the way, the bartenders? mixing skills are a joke.
Pros: Tender Steak
Cons: Price, Service, Ambience, Appetizers & Sides, Parking

We also celebrated my brothers birthday here in July and it was fantastic. We made a reservation on their website and selected that it was for a birthday. When we arrived, the table was decorated with "happy birthday" silver confetti. It was a nice touch and we appreciated it. The prime rib was delicious, as always!!!
